Summary
Weirdly enough it isn’t an alarm clock that brings Peter back to consciousness. It’s not even Aunt May rushing into his room yelling “Peter it’s late you need to wake up!” In a panic. It’s not Mr. Stark sitting next to his hospital bed in the med bay. Telling Peter the millionth time how he needs to be more careful. Or else he would have more gray hairs. Peter isn’t even laying down.
No, what greets Peter is the feeling of rope on his wrists, ankles, and chest. On what feels like a cold metal chair. And unfortunately a very familiar feeling of cotton in his ears. Additionally, a cloud of fog around his head and eyes.

"midoriya?" shouta questioned, growing even more confused and worried when the boy stiffened at the sound of his own name. horrified green eyes snapped up to meet his gaze, filled with emotion shouta didn’t understand.
"w-what?" the boy breathed out, voice almost inaudible had shouta not been listening. "dad?"

This will not make sense unless you read A Name That Haunts.
Izuku’s life has been upended and he’s still struggling to figure out the whole coping thing after so much turmoil. He gets lost in his head again when some items are brought over from his and his mother's former apartment. Such a little thing suddenly feels big and sends him straight into a spiral.
Luckily, he’s not left alone in his battle with grief. Aizawa and Yamada are right there to help him along.
Or,
Izuku doesn’t have a good time but his two guardians won’t leave him to drown.
