    Summary

Tim Drake is eleven years old when he’s grabbed off the streets of Bristol while he’s on his way home. It will be okay, he tells himself: they’ll call his parents, and they’ll pay the ransom, and he’ll get to go home.

There are pictures of Batman and Robin on the camera he was carrying. A lot of pictures.

They don’t call his parents. They call Black Mask.

    -
or: the one where Black Mask kidnaps Tim and tries to groom him into a ruthless heir, and Tim tries to figure out how to destroy him from the inside out.

General warnings tagged, anything not covered by those is in end-of-chapter notes to avoid spoilers.

Holy shit, Tim is a little genius.

A long fic with very very minimal Bats other than a scene with Jason Todd at the climax.

Tim is kidnapped by Black Mask when they find his photographs of the Bats, and he is used as a weapon to figure out the Bats routes. When they realize he's a brilliant little mastermind they give him more, and more, and more responsibilities. But any hint of betrayal comes with stakes, like dead bodies. And fingers.

It's really just Tim against Black Mask every step of the way, utilizing the freedoms he earns as The Black Mask believes he's manipulating Tim into loving power and becoming his heir. The thing is, Tim does love power. But not at much as he loves using it against Black Mask. Rome was not built in a day, but it sure as hell can tumble down in one.

A horrific origin, rewarding story, and bittersweet ending for Tim. There's no way he's not messed up from this long term.

I am SO stoked to read part 2.

    Summary

After watching his family die, Tim is given a second chance at saving those he loves. To protect them, he has to make sure they stay far away from him, so he becomes exactly who his parents always wanted him to be.

He’ll be Timothy Jackson Drake, and he will play his role perfectly.

Tim ends up in the past and somehow decides he's the problem. And should've never been a Bat at all.

So, he saves all the bats from their horrible fates, becomes the the mysterious Cardinal, and plays a cold, apathetic Timothy Drake at galas to keep the Waynes at arm's length.

Something, something, Streisand Effect— the more you try to hide something, the more attention you end up bringing to it.

    (Almost finished)

or, How Tim Drake Found A Family, Became A Photojournalist, Learned To Love Coffee, and Grew Up, not necessarily in that order.

Tim Drake is thirteen, runs the famous BatWatch blog that has spiraled hilariously out of control, has absentee parents that suit his purposes just fine, is training himself to run the streets at night, and is doing absolutely peachy, thank you.

Alfred and Jason disagree, and get Dick and Bruce involved in figuring out their weird nextdoor neighbor kid’s life. Everything goes uphill from there.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Basically little civilian Tim being unofficially-adopted by the Waynes as they realize how awful his homelife is. (Jaybin! Jason is alive as Robin!)

(My intro to batfam that I jumped into blindly! Heavy fluff/comfort with a side of hurt and neglect.)

    Summary

Tim’s pretty sure that Jason hates him.

Granted, Jason hadn’t seemed to hate him yesterday and Tim has no idea what he did to cause Jason to come to this conclusion today— (and it’s not like Tim hasn’t been racking his brain for the answer to that very question ever since he woke up)— but the signs have been there all morning and the signs never lie. The sullen mood, the closed-off body language, the vague grunts and one-word responses to Tim’s few attempts at conversation… they all point to a singular conclusion.

Jason has finally gotten sick of him.

    ---

Or, Jason starts acting weird while both Bruce and Alfred are out of town, and it dredges up some stuff for Tim.

Luckily, he’s still got one big brother left he can call.

In which Jason is "sick", just... not of Tim. This was not made clear.

Without Alfred home, The Wayne family is an absolute disaster trying to contain the flu as it spreads from person to person. Each bat has very different ways of coping with said sickness. It's as entertaining as it is exhausting.

    or

Jason's sick. So Tim calls in Dick, who calls in Bruce, who calls in Clark. Because sick bats are a handful.

"What do you want, Merlin? . . . Sorcerers always want something and they usually say what it is once they've revealed themselves. . . Which is it, Merlin? . . . Revenge or power?" In which Arthur questions Merlin's motives once he discovers his magic and gets an answer he doesn't expect, but in retrospect probably should have.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Magic is illegal, and Merlin has been found guilty of many, many crimes. This, Arthur cannot ignore.

In pair, Merlin will not fight Arthur, and will accept any punishment of his crimes laid out to him.

As Arthur finds out more, he realizes that Merlin has saved his life many, many times over, and that he could break out of his cell without lifting a pinky finger. But doesn't.

(God, I love this fic. The scene with the false alarm bells and Leon's warning of attack on the king to lure Merlin out and show his commitment of saving Arthur in front of the court. MWAH chef's kiss.)
