Summary
Following her father's death, Sarah returns to Paris, where she is hired by the Opera Populaire's resident nurse. She wants nothing better than to lead a quiet, peaceful life, but finds herself drawing unwanted attention from some of the stagehands. When she is stalked through the opera house one night, she stumbles into a secret passageway and upon certain hidden truths of her new workplace--mostly embodied by a man who calls himself ghost.
To her surprise, the Phantom of the Opera is much unlike what his reputation makes him out to be. And to his surprise, the new infirmière seems to have no fear for him at all.
What begins as a chance encounter unexpectedly develops into something more, and Sarah finds herself unwittingly caught in a series of events that she can no longer back out of. Meanwhile, constantly caught off guard by the strange woman's behavior, Erik starts to question everything he has known and believed about himself.
