Jazz, TIC of the Autobots, assassin, spy, and interrogator extraordinaire, is the most feared mech in the Autobot ranks bar none - his very name makes Decepticons tremble, and brave mechen have terminated themselves rather than allow themselves to fall into his clutches. So when Soundwave, a young Decepticon communications officer, awakens after months of constant torture at the hands of an Autobot base commander to find himself and his cassettes in the Autobot HQ's medbay with Jazz standing over him, he can hardly control his terror - he's held out for so long, but this is a fight he can't hope to win, and he knows it.
Meanwhile, Jazz feels terrible about what's happened to the young mech. He had nothing to do with the torture, certainly didn't authorize it, but it still happened - and the terror he can teek in the young mech's field doesn't help with the guilt. Still, Jazz wants the carrier for the Autobots, bad - he's clearly talented, has a strong and loyal clade, and would obviously make a fine agent, if he can be flipped.
So begins a terrifying experience for Soundwave, desperately struggling to protect his clade as Jazz determinedly... treats them with an unexpected degree of mercy?

Percy’s always known he was a bit different from the other children. The other children didn’t have sharp teeth or claws. The other children didn’t have scales or gills. The other children weren’t able to detect when someone was coming up behind them by the way their footsteps sounded, even if you were across the street. The other children couldn’t see the future or the past in their dreams or flashes of someone's fate when he looked at them. They weren’t able to hear the sound of someone’s breath from 30 feet away.
But Percy was okay with that. He didn’t need any of the other kids. They stayed away from him even if they couldn’t see his ever-changing eyes that could stare into your soul or his too-long fingers with claws instead of nails. But that was okay, he told himself, he had his Mom, Auntie Bronze, and Apollo, and that was all he needed.

Grammar is great, plot is slow going— not in a way that is slow burn but in a way of many repetitions and writing out many scenes. Personally: prolly written w AI. I’m 80% sure but I am giving the 20% off on account of the authors own words. Good base idea. Characterization’s a bit dry, so not for ppl who are looking for a character study (RfAIS) emotional nutrients come from the actions and the plot itself rather than really from the characters, so more plot (outward) based importance than character (inwards) based.
Not hitting recom bc it’s not smth I will reread (and that’s how I use the recom button: works I would reread AND recommend) but this fic might be for others so check ‘RfO’ tags. Reminder to add this as a guide somewhere.
