Yes, his plan, his whole purpose in fighting his way through the shackles of time was to remind Cloud who his master was. Sephiroth was going to show Cloud where he belonged: on his knees, begging for his forgiveness, to be made whole by the one who cherished him the most -- his God, his everything. At long last, he would subdue and claim his puppet into the mate he was destined to be.
…so why was Cloud wearing a rather revealing Honeybee costume?
~Time travel “fix-it” (according to Sephiroth) and Honey Bee Inn AU where insane post-Advent Sephiroth goes into an alternate timeline and discovers Cloud as the Honey Bee Inn’s crown jewel. It goes about as well as expected.

Summary
Cloud encounters Sephiroth after having just fought a bunch of Heartless. Sephiroth is his usual snarky self, so of course they get in a fight. Sephiroth disarms Cloud easily, then refuses to continue their battle because Cloud isn't at his best. He taunts him as usual to accept the Darkness in him, to accept that they are joined. After forcing Cloud to his knees using his Jenova enhanced genetic influence over him, Sephiroth drags Cloud off through the Corridors. This isn't as upsetting as you might think. After all, they've been here before.

Summary
After learning of the horrendous beings hidden away in Nibeilheim, Sephiroth locks himself away in the library of the manor to try and find the truth of his origins. What he finds sends him into a spiral—uncovering more and more about himself, more than Hojo or Shinra has ever told him.
This spiral is deep and there seems to be no end to it. The information and knowledge is so overwhelming that Sephiroth can no longer tell what is right or wrong.
But Glenn's voice cuts through the fog, reaching out to him with every intention to save him.

The image burns into Sephiroth's mind. Cloud's undivided focus, his lips pulled back in an angry snarl. He presses forward relentlessly despite being no match for Sephiroth's skill and experience. It's as irritating as it is exhilarating. He never wants to look away.
