Ah. Spirits. The only thing he could think was all the ways she could have ended up not okay. In gruesome detail, thanks to his imagination. He was almost certain that at least one of them had come true. He could not, absolutely positively could not get his hopes up. Because if he did and he was wrong, it would just hurt that much more. He was dreading their return, because he was certain Katara was not okay. He didn't want his fears confirmed, because as long as he never knew for sure, it was just bad thoughts. But he couldn't tell Aang that his sister, the person Aang probably cared the most about, was dead.
