For all that he was Batman, trained in the art of bald-faced lying, Bruce managed to shuffle his feet and twitch his eyes toward the front door suspiciously. "I'm… not going to the horrid little club in the Narrows?"
"Yet, here you are, dressed for the club," said Alfred flatly.
Fed up with Bruce's playboy act, Alfred signs him up for an exclusive dating service, hoping that he will at the very least make a friend. On the other side of the bay, Lois gifts Clark with a voucher for that very same service, insisting that he needs to move on from their mutual breakup.
Neither one of them really wants a relationship, but they do want their loved ones to be happy. So they come to a mutually beneficial agreement.
It very quickly becomes something else entirely.

Bruce finds out that a rival company plans to release a toy line of the Justice League. Said rival company is named LexCorp and a humanitarian's worst nightmare and there’s no way he will let the League be attached to people as abhorrent as that. So he quickly has all the superhero names trademarked. The problem? Now he actually has to use the JL and its assorted heroes in commerce somehow or risk losing the trademark. Hence, Wayne Enterprises launching a toy line.
Which would be totally fine if the Justice League actually knew that Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same person... As it is, they're not pleased that this bimbo billionaire is profiting off of them. They demand to get a say in the matter (also, why is the Superman action figure arguably the hottest piece of plastic ever seen, what the fuck?).

I have a million and one words for every feeling I've had reading this fic. But I'll say only a select few to be brief. The entanglement that stemmed from a trademark war Bruce played dirty in- causing Supes to unveil feelings previously left in the dark. That one JL meeting haunting the narrative like a wicked ghost, the call backs and reiteration that rightfully points out faults on both sides- the complex and unaddressed feelings of both of them.
It leaves me wondering; do the thugs who Superman and Batman fought together see the photos of Superman's tongue down Bruce Thomas Wayne's throat and feel pity for the poor Bat of Gotham? So many questions; never enough answers.
Also on the line in this chapter where Dinah whistles, 'Princess' is typed as 'Pricess.' Honestly excellent work to whoever worked on this fic, this is literally the only misspelling I've found in this whole thing. Thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful time today, writing literature the length of some novels isn't easy work but you all make it look like philanthropy.
