Yelena Belova is marching in her very first Pride March—with Kate Bishop by her side, naturally. A low-key day is thrown into disarray when Alexei Shostakov shows up, believing no gesture is too large when it comes to supporting his daughter. Hijinks and craziness ensue—but in the end, as long as she has Kate Bishop, everything will always be OK.

Kate furrowed her brow. “That’s not what I asked.”
The Black Widow-slash-New Avenger sighed. “I am excited not to be on Valentina’s float. I am always…excited…to spend time with you, detka. But…this is my first time, da, doing…all of this.” Yelena gestured at the crowds assembling around them, the masses of humanity with flags and banners every color of the rainbow, signs and balloons and rainbow wigs and outfits. “I…discovering myself, who I am outside of a Widow and a weapon, as a person with feelings and control over my own choices…this is a lot. Summary
When Kate’s team gets called up for a mission, the New and Improved Hawkeye is pulled from the bliss of her vacation with Yelena and the dogs at the Barton farm. The mission now complete, Kate can’t wait to be back in the arms of her girlfriend once more; unfortunately, the universe has thrown several trials in her path that she must endure first—starting with the flight back to Iowa.

“Kate, are you sure you…?”
“Yes,” the archer replied, interrupting Kamala before she could finish her question. “Yelena’s been alone for three days…three days of our vacation together we’ve missed. I just want to get back to the farm as quickly as possible.”
“Very well,” the Jersey City teen replied, a smirk on her lips.
“Wha-thwak!” Cassie vocalized a sound clearly reminiscent of…

When Yelena finds out she and Kate Bishop are both in town on business, she invites the archer out to dinner, for a fun girls night. It ends up being anything but.

“I should have known this was your idea of a date,” Kate chuckled, before holding on to the door for dear life as Yelena suddenly threw the enormous red stretch limousine in reverse.
“Who said anything about a date?” Yelena countered, as she whipped the car around and turned down an intersecting street.
“You asked me if I wanted to get dinner…”
“You were in town…”
“…and asked me to wear a dress, which I only do for you, by the way…”
“Can I help it if you look killer in that dress? Besides, it reminds me of the night in the elevator, at the Christmas party…”
“…and you pick me up in a limousine…” The show of sentimentality from the blonde surprised Kate, in a good way, but she continued probing nevertheless.

Summary
By the time she and Yelena were doing the final fitting, the dress was nearly complete—like it was supposed to be for a final fitting.
Agatha was right next to them as Yelena tried it on.
“Oh, wow,” Kate said, taking a step back as if to get the full picture.
“It really does fit perfectly,” Agatha commented, sounding impressed.
Yelena was too; she had doubted Kate’s photographic memory to get all the measures right.
As Kate helped Yelena out of the dress, she felt her own face growing warm once again. Yelena pretended not to notice.

Summary
Yelena leaned in, pressing her lips to Kate’s for a brief moment. A sharp taste of salt and blood lingered on her mouth; she hated the sensation, but said nothing.
“There. A real kiss, then. I hope you’re satisfied,” she said as she pulled back, her eyes finding Kate’s again. “Now, can we change the subject?”
A small, mischievous smile lit up Kate’s face for a few seconds.
“It seems like you’ve kissed me back to life at least twice today, love.”
A faint blush rose to the Widow’s cheekbones as, in her arms, pressed close to her, Kate gradually relaxed. As if that small, tender gesture—that simple kiss—had drained some of her tension away.
OR - A cargo ship, a mission gone wrong, Kate going through hell, Yelena doing everything to keep her close, and everything that comes before, during and after.
