Summary
It’s January, a few months into her intern year, and Trinity Santos is surviving the Pitt, her shared apartment with Dennis Whitaker, and whatever she refuses to call her situation with Yolanda Garcia.
The heater is set to sixty-eight. The apartment is too warm. Trinity is exhausted enough to send a text she would normally delete.
Or: the one where Trinity almost dies, Dennis saves her life, and Garcia realizes she was never as detached as she thought.

Summary
The ER doesn't pause. It just keeps moving — through system crashes and bad shifts and everything people carry in after the doors close behind them. Trinity Santos knows this. She's built her whole residency around it. Keep moving. Don't sit with anything too long. It works, mostly. Until the night it doesn't — and the only person still standing at the bar after last call is her attending.

Summary
On the nightstand, Trinity finds a printed photo of them. She reaches for it with numb fingers. In the photo, Trinity is dipping the woman backward dramatically as they kiss beneath glaring chapel lights.
Trinity flips the photo over. A note is written in what would’ve been an elegant cursive:
Call me when you see this, wife – Y. G.
or: Trinity goes to Vegas, gets drunk, and wakes up married.

“ if, perchance, you should grieve at all, let her not perceive it;
and laugh when, within yourself, you could have wept.
— Ovid, Remedia AmorisThe thing about the words we say, even the ones we mean to say, is that we can never really tell how completely they might unravel a life. And for Yolanda Garcia, who has built herself carefully around discipline, distance and the absolute refusal to need anybody at all, it only takes one badly timed sentence for everything to begin coming apart.

“I miss you,” Yolanda mumbles into the dimly lit space.
Of all the things that could’ve left Yolanda’s mouth, those three devastating words certainly weren’t on the list.
“I miss us,” Yolanda added, braver in her resolve now. “I miss what we had without all the causal shit I hid behind.”

07:32Trinity PTMC
sure if that’s what you want.
07:35Garcia makes the mistake of baiting Santos into a breakup and suffers heavily because of it. After months of ice-cold tension between the two (kind-of) exes, Santos shows up to PTMC sick as a dog and runs into none other than Garcia herself ready to nurse her back to health.

Summary
Trinity ran a handful of toilet paper underneath the sink and used the wet glob to wipe away her blood. She pulled out a bottle of hydrogen peroxide from beneath the sink and poured a small amount directly on the cuts and hissed at the sting of it. She wrapped gauze around her leg, and pulled her pants back on, and splashed her face with cold water.
Maybe if someone had only cared, even a little bit, they both could have been saved before it was too late.
Trinity snuck outside in the dead of night and shoved the rope beneath some trash bags in their apartment building’s dumpster.
She laid awake in bed, her head and her thigh throbbing angrily.
And she decided to become a doctor that very night.
OR
I genuinely put Santos through the ringer. She ends up as a patient in the very hospital she works at.

“The easiest way to clean you up, besides keeping you away from the club, for the love of God—” Trinity opens her mouth to argue, but Samira just holds up a hand and shakes her head, “—is to give you a love interest. And people love a co-star romance. They’re hot right now and we think if it seems like you and Yolanda are dating—especially with Yolanda being as serious and respected as she is, we can have much more support for you before you even start filming.”
Trinity nods, processing the words for a moment before they actually begin to settle within her. “Wait—you want us to date?”
Trinity Santos, longtime film actress stuck just below the level of true awards acclaim due to a bad reputation for never shutting her mouth and never leaving the club before dawn, finds herself signing onto a PR relationship with the goal of cleaning up her image. Of course, this fake relationship is with none other than Academy Award winning actress—and her future co-star—Yolanda Garcia.

“I’m not a fucking Uber driver, Trinity,” is the first thing she hears when she picks up. Brilliant. So it’s a Trinity kind of night, then.
“Great.” She takes another draw of her vape, forcing herself to focus on the overwhelming sweetness of sour watermelon rather than the thinly-veiled needle of irritation that pulses through Yolanda’s words. “So, you’re not gonna charge me fifty bucks for a two mile drive, then?”
A sigh. If she closes her eyes, she can picture her expression: brow pinched, jaw clenched, neck vein activated. She’s probably rubbing at the bridge of her nose right now, exasperated as she always seems to be when Trinity’s involved these days.

Summary
The fourth of July shift turns out to be the shift that came from hell. And Trinity Santos is pretty sure that the day, once it decides to retreat back into those fiery depths, is going to pull her with it. Langdon has returned, Robby is gearing up for his spiritual journey (which Trinity doubts he’ll ever return from), Dr. Al-Hashimi is on her ass about charting, and to top it all off, Garcia makes it very clear that Trinity is no more than a good lay. So yeah, the day can’t end soon enough. But… complications arise in the shape of a pornstar martini and a set of far too understanding brown eyes.
Or;
the one where Trinity uses Mohan as a distraction from the mess that is her life and somehow ends up in a love triangle that is undeniably hot, yet undeniably complicated.

“I came to apologize.”
At that, Trinity pushes off the doorframe and turns into the apartment, leaving the door open for Yolanda to follow.
“Guess you figured out that it wasn’t my fault?”
“We figured it out right after you left the room.”
“And I didn’t do it to get back at Langdon, or whatever.”
“I know.”
“You told me to get over it. That it was affecting my patients. That really fucking–” She stops herself, takes a breath and pinches the bridge of her nose, then starts again.
“That was a fucked up thing to say.”
The guilt settles a little deeper, pulling at her insides like a knife had been stuck inside her, and someone was twisting the hilt.

Just as Yolanda and Trinity's relationship was starting to develop into something more, a series of events threatens to ruin everything. Yolanda learns to accept support from those around her and give it in return, as she comes to terms with the ways her relationship with her mother has affected her life in ways she never imagined it could.

Summary
“Is it weird—” Trinity’s voice is loud. Obtrusive. She hates it, hates how awkward this feels, “—that I call you Garcia in bed?”
As much as she can, Garcia shrugs. “I don’t think so.” Her fingers sift through the cereal, dry clinks echoing in their wake. “It’s not like this is serious or anything. Just…” she trails off, then shrugs again.
Colors bleed together, water flows, and excitement melts into exhaustion.
“Right,” Trinity says. She manages a forced laugh. “Right, of course.”
OR: The one in which working in an ER is exhausting and so, too, is figuring out where one stands with their lets keep it casual hookup. But life keeps churning, lives keep slipping away, and Trinity really needs to know if she's actually straight-passing or if everyone around her just has a horrible gaydar.
