Inside the tower, there’s a heap of something on the floor that Jean quickly realises are feathers— wings in fact, large and white.
Frantic, she immediately crouches. As she does so, however, Venti finally stirs. When he next opens his eyes, looking at her, his eyes immediately widen. Then, in a too-small, too-uncertain voice, raspy and shaky, he whispers—
“Gunnhildr?”
Venti gets de-aged after a close call with Decarabian's god remains in Old Mondstadt. Jean (and others) care for him in the aftermath. In the process, Jean walks the same steps and reconnects with her ancestor before her.
This fic was written as part of the Drunk Twink Summer Exchange and updates every two weeks.

Immortals have a tendency to not know love. Humans, on the other hand? They have been loved from the moment they were born.
Venti is a special case. He has no parents, but the love of which he was created from, the love of his people; that is the love he knows.
It was the Gunnhilder warrior of long ago that summoned Venti with her wishes, and her hands that laid the laurel on the newly born god. It was the bard who showed him freedom and filled him with song. It is his people that give him the strength to move a thousand winds.
But what happens when one of his own people, a red-haired gentleman, looks too much like a friend who turned his back on him and abandoned him when he was only new to the world?

Decerabian's death would do the same, but one brave bard did impossible and was able to send it to a different era.
It cost them life, bones and the memory of their name. Everyone forgot their name, except a single wisp who was able to pick this fragment of Time.
