Epic young Kakashi fix-it, in which everyone lives (except the bad guys). The Sakumo, Duy, Gai, Kakashi dynamic is amazing. The ending is heart wrenching, but perfect.

Summary
He dies, and when all is said and done in that inky after-death, Father hands him an old scroll, adorned with the Hatake clan symbol and a peculiar looking seal.
“One of my biggest regrets,” Father tells him, “is never getting the chance to introduce you to the clan.”
He wakes up into a valley he’s never seen before, occupied by silver-haired villagers with familiar, dark eyes. As the questions grow darker than the answers, everything Kakashi thought he knew about the Hatake is challenged, as is his hope for ever getting home.

Summary
Kakashi Hatake died when he was five-years-old. Maito Gai found a dying silver haired boy with a collar around his neck when he was sixteen-years-old. These two things have an unfortunate connection: Kakashi Hatake.
Kidnapped and raised as a weapon, conditioned to heel and obey, Kakashi was never meant to be found. But he was. And it’s turned Maito Gai’s life upside down. Another fic where Kakashi is thought dead, but instead was kidnapped by Danzo and turned into an animal (or behaves like one). This one is definitely unique in that Gai is the one who discovers him, and in that Kakashi doesn't even think he is human anymore. It's not finished but I can't wait to continue reading this story.
