Kureha wasn't quite sure what she had been expecting from that particular day, but it definitely wasn't this. Monkey D. Garp, recently dubbed traitor of the Marines for crimes she was half-sure had been manufactured, slapped with a bounty that made half the big names in Paradise blush, dragging a struggling Gol D. Roger through the door of her clinic and dropping him like a sack on a cot.
"I'm fine, Seas damn it, let it go, Garp."
He did look fine at first glance. No bullet wounds, no visible injuries, just a knock to the head that Kureha was pretty sure came from a punch from his - friend? Enemy? Rival? She'd ignored the happenings outside Drum for a month and the world had gone and turned on its head apparently.
"And I'm telling you, you're getting a check-up. Like it or not. If that sickness has started already, she's the best one to figure out how to manage it. You're not pulling the bullshit you did last time. Crocus might have tried his best, but he wasn't the best and you know it."

The sword would not stop screaming at him. Loudly so, even if Mihawk had not even planned to pick her up from the literal junk shop where she had been shoved between a pack of days old flour and what seemed to be leftover leather for tanning purposes.
The only reason he had taken her was because she did not deserve to be there. No sword did; he had no need for another, but would not leave a fine blade to rust in an imbecile's hands. Which obviously the shopkeeper was if he hadn't even realised he was trying to sell a cursed blade.
The more he listened to the sword, the more Mihawk realized her screaming was more of a longing wail than a shout, a mess of incoherent noise as if she was yearning for something just out of reach.
Kikoku gets shattered on Winner Island and travels back in time. Mihawk is the unlucky person who gets to find her. Luckily for Law, this changes everything.

Dadan didn't need to see him to know he was there. Of all possible bullshit that could happen to her, time travel had Monkey D shenanigans stamped all over it. And considering her kid’s Pirate King now, it would be a fool’s bet to think he hadn’t got himself wrapped up in some new adventure or another and ended up bragging her to fucking Marinefort of all place. "I didn't do nuthing!" yelled back at her from the crowd of marines and pirates told her she was spot on, even if the brat himself probably did not know at this point what in Nika's name he managed to do in order to drag her back not only from the embrace of death but toss her back in time as well
But that mattered little now. The brat was alive and would stay alive. It's her other brat that she's worried about. It doesn’t more than a cursory glance to notice her surroundings. Because there, up on the scaffold, alive - still thankfully alive and he would stay like that if she had anything to say about it - Ace chortles in surprise and gasped a word he had not used since he was knee high.
