"Eddie, I need you to lick his wounds. Now."
The words hung in the air, absurd and laced with deadly urgency. Eddie froze, his mouth falling open in total disbelief. His eyebrows shot up, nearly disappearing beneath his unruly bangs. He looked at Nancy, then at Steve—who had also opened his eyes wide despite the pain—and then back at Nancy. Robin, from the background, let out a choked sound, a gasp of surprise.
"What?" Eddie managed, a disbelieving, nervous laugh catching in his throat. He shook his head, curls bouncing. "Are you shitting me, Wheeler? No way in hell am I licking Harrington."

“How can I help you, sweetie?” Eddie asks, voice low and kind. “Tell me what to do, and I'll do it. Anything to take your pain away.”
“I don't know,” Steve cries, a free tear slipping from his eye. “Everything hurts. I can't relax.”
Eddie bites on his bottom lip, adjusting them so Steve’s legs are now wrapped around his waist. He can smell the copper scent coming from his vagina, as well as the insistent pump of his mate’s pheromones. “You know I have a theory,” he says.
Steve just looks up at him, his doe eyes sad in pain and titled downward like a sad puppy. He hums, telling Eddie to tell him the theory without actually telling him.
“You know how sex relieves heat? Well…what if it helps relieve your period, too?”
