As the years went on their interactions changed. Greetings became outright flirting, and the fights ended with unsaid promises and enough tension that even she could sense it. Quite a few times after Ada made her exit, Leon would berate himself to ‘get it together’.
Hunnigan wasn't stupid had suspended something like this from the first time they interacted in Spain. Though even back then she’d been in denial. But it was something else having confirmation their best agent was head over heels for the most successful and deadly mercenary in their field. And the real head scratcher was it seemed to be reciprocated.

“You good?” He asks as he quickly looks her over to see if there's any visible injuries once they are clear.
She nods shakily as she collapses onto the ground. The agent just takes a breath before crouching down and picking her up. She squeaks but he pays her no mind.
“You did really well, but we need to get further away in case anything too nasty gets out. I don't know what else is in there.” He tells her calmly.
She shutters against him at the thought of anything worse than what she'd seen. It was hard to imagine this was what a normal DSO mission was. The idea that this was a normal mission for him…Jesus she couldn't imagine doing this willingly.

Nathan was a regular in the training room. And during all his time he'd never once seen Grace Ashcroft in it. This wasn't a dig at her of course. She didn't need to be there, she wasn't a field agent.
So, seeing her and there was shock and seeing none other than Leon Kennedy in there with her nearly killed him.
But there they were Grace with a practice knife and Leon playing the part of the attacker. He was telegraphing his movements a bit but in general Grace was reacting nearly on her own.
