Caine's emotions exploded— Kinger never imagined that would be possible. The AI was programmed to simulate human emotion for authenticity, but for him to genuinely experience them was not what was ever anticipated.
Caine is hurting. Caine is angry. Caine is malfunctioning, and he is violently lashing out at everyone. Kinger is fast at work, battling against Caine's code to try to stop his turbulent rampage. Everyone is depending on him.

Summary
Pomni didn't want to go on another adventure.
After enduring one wacky adventure after the next, after escaping many by the skin of her teeth, Pomni wasn't sure many more she could endure. How did everyone else manage? How much longer would she have to crawl her way through until Caine felt satisfied?
As if the digital world had a sense of humor, her wish was granted. A strange ant colony kidnapped almost everyone, leaving Pomni as the one left behind.
Oh, and the pillow fort was still standing. Huh. It really was a fortress.
