Summary
dennis learns something that was kept from him for weeks. but he learns it in a way that sends him crumbling into a headspace that doesn't fully understand "adult" emotions.
but robby and jack have always been good at grounding their puppy. hopefully they still can, even when they're the cause for his pain.

Summary
Mel King has spent so long looking after everyone else that she has forgotten how to look after herself, and in turn has begun to live by the rule that if she isn't needed, she isn't necessary. Frank Langdon has spent the last year shrinking, the feeling of being needed, which he'd clung to so desperately for years, having shattered long before anyone found out about his addiction. At their lowest, they find solace in the other, learning what it is to be truly needed, and more importantly, wanted, discovering who they both are outside of the roles of caregiver and addict.
They fall in love along the way.
