As a Handler, it was my job to keep my charge on a short leash. Make sure they got their job done and with as little fuck-ups as possible. The workplace was toxic, if you can believe it. Handlers should be treated like saints and the ground they walk on as sacred considering all the bullshit we put up with, but instead we’re either given pitiful looks or treated as expendable...especially to the very mercenaries that we have to babysit. If you can believe it, most mercenaries don’t like being treated like they’re unstable assholes who need a constant eye on them. Weird, I know.
