There was a pause, then Thor noticed Syn poke Loki. He sighed. “I may have stolen a few of his access codes. Including one to his hanger.”
Brun looked at him. “Do you just steal things for sport?”
He shrugged. “I don’t mock your hobbies.”
She rolled her eyes. “Fine. I’ll figure out which is the best one to steal. We’re only going to get one shot.”
Thor looked at her. “We?”
“If you fly out of here in one of the Grandmaster’s ships, anyone left behind associated with you is going to get melt-sticked.”
“There’d be no evidence you were involved.”
Syn munched another grape. “You’re expecting logic from a lunatic.”
“Give me a couple hours to do some recon,” Brun said. “And then we can meet again.” She reached out and touched her sword and then looked up at him. “I don’t know. Maybe I owe Hela a sword in the gut.”
Thor smiled. “I’ll be sure you get the chance.”

Pietro's fingers trailed along the skin of her arm. "Some things are better together than apart. Bourbon and coke. Peanut butter and jelly."
There was something funny about the silence that followed, and so she ventured, "You want a PBJ, now, don't you?"
"I wouldn't say no to one. . ." he told her, nomming on her shoulder.
She swatted him. "Fine, fine. You and your enhanced metabolism."
Tilting his head, one corner of his mouth quirked up. "Did you google me?"
"Of course I did. I like to know who I'm sleeping with if I'm going to do it more than once.”
"You mad I didn't tell you?”
"I assumed you had your reasons. Maybe you liked being normal with me.”
"I do like being normal.”
She smiled and nodded. He really did make her happy. It was such a strange sensation. "Still want the sandwich?”
"Now that you know about the metabolism, I want two."

Summary
They hauled and sawed and hammered and built. By the time the sun was setting, they were all exhausted. People began lighting torches, and Thor called a meeting at the edge of the field where the ship was parked, standing on the ramp to be visible, and showed everyone the tiny Ygdrassil, which had already started to sprout a new leaf.
“I know we’re all still mourning,” he said, projecting loud enough to hear. “There are still hard times ahead. But our Alfan hosts have shown us great generosity and their queen has offered us her protection and hospitality. We are alive and safe and the Tree still lives. There is reason to hope.”
She turned and looked at the crowd. People looked exhausted, too, and sad. But she could see the smiles, too. The willingness to believe. When you’ve lost everything, you reach for anything you can.

Summary
I could write AUs for these two till the cows come home, I'm not ashamed. This one is a little different, though. It is entirely stand-alone. You don't need to have read any of the other stories to understand this one.
Syn isn't the positive influence she usually is. She's the queen of Alfheim with her own demons. She finds an alliance with the false king is in her best interest. So begins a partnership that could threaten the nine realms and beyond.
She stopped and crossed her arms over the back of the chair, leaning on it. “There’s nothing Odin could have done for me and little I could have offered him. You, Trickster, are a different matter.”
He tipped his head back, pacing off a little square of the room, keeping himself between her and the door. “Is this where you try and seduce me? That might almost be amusing.”
She shook her head, looking almost disappointed. “Why is it when a woman tries to negotiate men always assume her opening offer will be opening her legs? It rather denotes a lack of imagination.”Series
