“Nat, Tai!” Shauna cried as the two ran through the cobbled streets, into the goat house and up the stairs to the attic. “Wait, wait wait, don’t let them hear you!”
Natalie and Taissa were to far ahead to hear her, cackling like witches while Shauna struggled to catch up.
Natalie poked her head up first, grinning like a psycho, then Tai, then Shauna, who frowned at the absence of the three women.
“There’s no one here!” Nat huffed, disappointed.
“Are you sure?” Taissa asked Shauna
“Of course I’m sure!” Shauna snapped. “Do you think I’d forget my daughter’s moms?”
Taissa and Natalie exchanged a look.
Shauna swatted them. “They were all here! Jackie Taylor, Melissa, and Lottie ‘Lunatic’!”
Taissa gasped at the nickname.
“Lottie Lunatic?!” Gasped Natalie with a laugh.OR
