When he finally gets cleared to return to work, he gets assigned to a patrol. On this patrol, he has the choice to ignore or pursue an inkling. Wanting to prove himself, he chooses to pursue. This gets him stuck in a predicament that he'll be forced to confront, it was bound to happen sooner or later right?

He reached an arm out, watching as the usually stable appendage shook in the empty darkness. Something in him seemed to splinter, like glass slowly shattering under weight.
