You laugh once. Not because it’s funny, but because the alternative is asking a lot of follow-up questions you do not actually want the answers to. “What should I do?”
House shrugs. “I don’t know. Go seduce him.”
For a second, the entire corridor seems to go flat and still.
Then you say, very carefully, “What?”
