On a calm and snowy night, just a few days before Hearth's Warming, Spike decides to check up on Twilight to see if she's doing okay.
Twilight has been through much hardship recently, but thankfully, over the past year she's gotten much better since. However, with fears still lingering in Spike's mind, he wants to be absolutely certain that Twilight's improved well-being stays that way.
And he'll do it by doing what he does best at. By being right by her side. There for her. Always.

Summary
Following the assassination of Prince Stolas and the subsequent hunt for his killers, I.M.P. has completely split up.
Moxxie and Millie have moved away, and Loona has moved out. All of them rarely contacting Blitzo anymore, even though he wanted to get the team back together.
Eventually, he did, but in the worst way possible, as Moxxie, Millie, and Loona later learn that Blitzo was killed in the yearly Extermination..
...or at least that's what Millie, Loona, and the rest of the public believe.
Only Moxxie knows the truth about Blitzo’s survival. But he made a promise to Blitzo that he would not tell anyone. A promise only to be broken if he ever needs Blitzo’s help.
Unfortunately for Blitzo, that time is now.
10 years after his “death”, Blitzo, under the alias Brandon Rogers, has created a new life, became a heavily respected member of a small community, and is essentially the guard dog of the town.
But all that falls apart when he gets a phone call from Moxxie, letting him know that his past is coming back.
