Summary
During the episode Changing Channels, Castiel said Sam and Dean have been missing for days. We only see the boys on a handful of shows and that does not match up to a few days time. I often wondered what else happened during that time, the missing hours. So I decided to amuse myself by further torturing them. With some of my favorite shows.

An interesting take on a modern vampire culture. Adding other supernaturals to the world makes it feel more fleshed out, but also not. You feel there is a long history, but don’t really get a full feeling for it. The greatest strength of the story is how Shane feels fully in character and Ilya does for the most part. Liberties must be taken when you make someone a 600 year old vampire. The biggest flaw is a general lack of understanding of the supernatural creatures. I know more about the cultures than I do their physical appearance and abilities. Also Svetlana being sidelined for an OC. I am a sucker for a kidnapping fic and I appreciate the detail that went into not only the kidnapping itself, but the torture Shane goes through. Of course it all leads to some wonderful comfort scenes.

I do love a good werewolf courting fic and this one was very good. Even though we have no feral behavior :(. Shane reads very in character and so does Ilya. Ok maybe a little off since Ilya doesn’t regularly tease Shane, but this is slightly different Ilya. Shane being a mountain doctor tracks. Physical and mental in equal parts. I love that the werewolves are not just big wolves. Always a good thing. Would love to see more about pack life and dynamics in this world. To see where they all end up, but this story stands alone well. Enough details to build the world, but leaves me wanting more. Oh and the sex scenes are hot.

Beautiful story. A lot of emphasis on the real power dynamics in a gladiatorial slave and senator relationship, but romanticizes it just enough for the story to work. Very detail oriented. Maybe a little too much as it throws so much Politics at you it takes you a bit out of the fantasy of it all. If it had been spread out a bit more, if there was a bit more than this maybe 12 hrs of time it would work. As is throwing a lot of very interesting historical facts during a sex scene kinda takes me out of it. As it is still a wonderful little snapshot into a different time and place for Shane and Ilya. I do love how much time and care Shane has put into his relationship with Ilya. He has that luxury as it shows that he is making use of it. Wielding it like a weapon to save his love. Shane is still very much Shane. Ilya, given his situation, is just trying to survive and taking comfort where he can. Not letting himself do more than fantasize for moments. Not daring to dream. A survivor through and through.

This series had me cackling. The author truly has a gift with comedy. Just enough real emotion and drama for the levity to balance it out perfectly. Everyone is so in character that it never feels off. Even when something slightly ooc happens there’s enough context to make it work. And there are a lot of characters to keep track of. Truly brilliant 81/10.
