The thing is, Caitlyn knows how to make friends. It’s basic science. There’s a set of rules to follow. Smile on first introduction, don’t interrupt them to tell them they’re wrong (even if they are) and, without fail, she needs to tell them her last name.
Then, when the friendship is formed (she’s done enough surveys to know it takes four social outings, three random texts and at least six memes), and only then, can variables be introduced.
Oh, yes, Caitlyn Kiramman knows how to make friends.

Summary

“...Could I have my ball back?”
“This is yours?” she pokes it with the toe of her fucked up shoe. Good material, nice and rigid. The bin at the rec centre has a few, but they’re these lumpy things the kids like to smack each other with rather than kick.
The girl looks around. It should read as mocking- it comes across completely genuine. “There’s no one else here.”
“What’s in it for me?”
“I’ll… leave you alone?”
Vi smothers the urge to grin.
She groans instead, gets to her feet, and- outside part, right?- kicks the ball with the broad side of her foot. It gets the job done. Vi blinks, and the girl has the ball snug under her cleat. Huh.
“That was a good kick,” she says with the tiniest quirk of her lip, like she couldn’t believe it.
Vi is sixteen, and furious about it. Her sister's a target for Zaun High's bottom of the barrel, her city is given less grace than a dying roadside animal, and beyond being angry about these two specific things- she has nothing going on.
But one day, a chance escape to Zaun park's dingy soccer field, somehow, changes everything- and it all starts with a girl who really shouldn't be here.

When Vi starts having strange dreams involving her Vampire girlfriend she books an appointment with a witch in the hopes of getting to know what's happening exactly.
She doesn't expect for this appointment to reveal her something that changes her feelings for Caitlyn drastically.
I was just seeing a "The Vampire Diaries" and this popped in my head. Be aware it's not really a love story soo...

"Come here, little one."
Vi felt her feet move before she had made the conscious decision to go. Her body followed the gentle command like it was compulsion across the room. Things blurred around the edges until she could breathe in Caitlyn's soft, pleasant smell directly from the source again and not just some lingering traces. She loved her new senses fiercely, so grateful that she got to experience Caitlyn as so much more. Vi only realized how much she had missed the other woman's touch when she reached out to wrap her hand around a slender wrist. There was no pulse, almost no warmth, but her skin was soft, the bones under her fingers fragile and delicate. Vi couldn't help but rub the pad of her thumb in small circles over the place where she would have felt a pulse had the wrist belonged to a human. Caitlyn shot her an indulgent smile and didn't pull away. Vi felt something inside her settle.- Or the one in which Vi acquires a (substitute) Sire
