Summary
Apparently the youngest Master in history have signed to army and speedrun his way to official War Hero title to impress his former commander, Princess Changing Star, and become qualified to marry her. But elders of Clan Valor think that he might be better fit for their other, much more favored Princess, who needs a particularly sturdy husband for any marriage to work.
Princess in question is less than happy about their idea.
(Not Canon Compliant. Actually a bit of AU, because canonically Valor's internal politics and whole Morgan's upbringing are even more toxic. I actually planned it as canon-compliant, but I'd need extensive anthropology studies to comprehend the actual canonic levels of Valor toxicity. Which I might do anyway in the future.)
Can be read as a bonus Chapter 3½ to Have You Heard?, or Kaleidoscope of Gossip.

Summary
Nephis and Sunny's relationship examined through gossips told about them. It was delicious in their Fake Dating Turned Real Dating arc, and this series of miniatures is meant to give similar external POV context for other stages of their beautiful trainwreck of relationship.
(In particular, I revel in how unreliable Sunless is as a narrator and how expertly does he lie to himself and I believe he shine the brightest when his ideas of what is happening are set against contrasting background of what does everyone else see.)

Summary
The worst part about it, Simon thinks, is that when his skin starts to slough off, it’s replaced by a film of blood. And when that starts, the line of demarcation that separates what was strictly him and strictly other starts to fade. Even when his left arm detaches with an uneven rip and the voice in his head stops being his voice, he still hopes there’s a way to distill his real self from the sludge.
Simon subscribes to the idea that people get what they deserve as a consequence of their actions. Something along the lines of karma. It brings a sense of closure, and he’ll take closure where he can get it. With that, Simon submits himself to the notion he’s getting exactly what he deserves. This is how it’s going to end - with him blindly slinging an axe in a battle for unsatisfying gulps of metallic air, fumbling around the dark for a line that used to exist.
But he wakes up. And the first thing Simon’s traitorous brain thinks is that this man has the kindest eyes he’s ever seen.

Summary
“Go?” Rozanov repeats, and Shane thinks he manages to nod, thinks he manages to spin some kind of excuse that he knows Rozanov doesn’t really buy, but he needs to go. He needs to get out of here. He needs to find somewhere quiet and calm where he can ride out this panic and painful tightness until he can catch his breath again. He needs-
He needs to go.
“I’m sorry,” he says, turning heel and resisting the urge to just book it right for the front door only because he’d rather not have to explain to Hayden why he returned from a hookup with Boston Lily in men’s clothes that he certainly didn’t leave in.
It’s not until he makes it halfway up the stairs to Rozanov’s bedroom that it occurs to him in a cold rush that it isn’t just anxiety that makes it this hard to breathe.
“No,” he tells himself firmly, white knuckling the bannister and trying to take a deep breath just to prove that he can.
It wheezes.

Summary
It does mean missing out on things like barbeques and team dinners sometimes, but it’s not as if he would have been able to participate anyway. At this point in his life, risking someone not taking his allergies seriously would mean potentially missing games, which makes it unacceptable. Jackie always makes sure he has a dish or two that’s safe when he’s over at their house, but if he was going to be the one guy sitting and drinking ginger ale instead of taking part in sharing nachos or Korean barbeque or burgers or any other delicious thing he goes in knowing he can’t have anyway, there’s no point in making a fuss about it. He eats at home, has a drink with everyone else, and he calls it a day. Easy. Safe. Foolproof.
But also the reason it doesn’t occur to him that he hasn’t actually told Ilya about any of his allergies until it becomes immediately relevant five days into being at his cottage together.
(how ilya learns about shane's food allergies) (and how shane learns what it's like to have someone who always saves him a seat at the table) (and who also makes sure there's food he can eat on the table to start with)

Summary
The worship of Greek Gods is going through a bit of a renaissance of late, but since appropriate temples for them to safely manifest on earth are still in very short supply, Hotel Olympus provides a place for them to stay whenever the gods feel the need to make an appearance.
Charlie is the new front of house manager. She has excellent training and experience. What she doesn't have is the faintest interest in or knowledge of Greek Mythology. But a job’s a job and guests are guests and by all means, if sir and madam want a bowl of fresh pomegranates brought up to the bridal suite she’ll see to it that it happens immediately. She’s dealt with way worse.

Summary
“Come on, let’s go. In and out. 20 minute adventure,” Sergeant Yang said convincingly, like I had a say in the matter.
As a GrayCris SecUnit I couldn’t say no or else my governor module would punish me like I was getting shot everywhere all at once. Although that might have been preferable with how risky this mission was, at least I’d come out the other end alive. I should’ve just said “no.”
