“What are you making?”
“I’m begging you to go away.” He says coldly, still not looking up.
Hermione begins to feel it, begins to feel the tickle of energy in her fingers, her breath picking up. She wants it. She wants to play with fire. “I didn’t know Death Eaters begged.”
Then she’s on her back on the table, her breath knocked out of her and Malfoy’s barreling down on her, his hand around her throat.
“Careful Granger,” he growls, “you’re saying the quiet part out loud. We’re all supposed to be making amends, aren’t we?” His voice drips with sarcasm, cruel and sharp as a blade. His fingers are tight around her neck, squeezing, but… but not pressing inwards, avoiding her windpipe.
Hermione and Draco struggle after years of fighting for their lives to live in peace... but the instinct to fight hasn't quite died. She's got aches only firewhiskey can mend and an assignment that'll be the death of her: castle restoration. Will she survive a world that she doesn't feel like she fits into anymore? Does she want to?

Hermione wouldn’t look at Theo. Theo could feel something was going on, but he couldn’t pinpoint what or what Ron was doing. He knew that when Ron drank in the dorms, he would berate Hermione, but he had never heard anything physical. “Are you sure?”
Hermione nodded again.
“As nice as this interaction has been, we have an appointment to get to.” Ron’s hand on her arm moved to her hand and tugged her towards the castle.
“Since we’ve been here, have you heard her say a word?” Draco whispered under his breath.
“No, she doesn’t even raise her hand or ask any questions. She just writes and works on the assignments.” Theo responded; he was a bit on edge from the interaction between the two Gryffindors. “Something isn’t right.”

Summary
Hermione, as usual, has done the impossible. She has found a cure for the obliviate spell, and she is eager to present her findings to the wizarding world at large. The problem is, Hermione is attacked when presenting her research at St. Mungo's, and she finds herself rescued by a masked man in tactical gear. Only, he's using a gun... and a wand?
Draco has been forced into servitude along with every other child of the death eaters. It wasn't a choice to join the underground task force, but he does rather excel at it. As he does. The Knights, all of whom go by code names and operate in the shadows, carry out their orders with deadly precision. They do not usually play bodyguard to other witches and wizards.
Hermione is the exception. Draco is tasked with keeping Hermione alive, protecting her from what seems to be a muggle army. Or zombies. They're not exactly sure. Only, Hermione has no idea who is behind the mask. All she knows is that a Knight has been sent to her flat, H3. And she's stuck with him.
