Summary

Stone’s world, though, floats outside of earth’s atmosphere, nothing but space dust among the stars. Robotnik may have steered the laser away from the planet, but it still blew Stone’s world into a thousand tiny pieces.

Summary
A "what if" scenario; what if stan got kidnapped during his "extra stan, $3 or better offer" punishment?
Grief wasn't a strong enough word to encapsulate how Ford felt, his brother was gone, taken from under their noses. The police would find him, they would. Except they didn't, and Stan's case goes cold. That wouldn't do, Ford would find him, even if it's the last thing he does. If you want something done right, you should just do it yourself.

And despite everything he had, he could never truly shake off the feeling of emptiness in his core.Years passed. His hair had turned salt and pepper and his face bore the lines of a life well lived. He knows he's ready now. He retired his time spent at the Institute and packed up with one last mission on his mind: to finally reconcile with his brother.

Devastating, and incredibly written. Nearly the EXACT fic we've been looking for for months. Amazing look into both Stan twins and the actions that could have been taken, author really captured the subtle biases for both boys. Also the ending is deliciously heartbreaking. If you want a tear-jerking, heart-carving, hurt no comfort Stangst fic, give this one a try.

Hope is a silly thing. It has burned Stan one too many times, and yet Stan keeps letting it, fool that he is. “Okay,” he agrees, and folds their hands together. It’s a clumsy fit: Stan’s fingers are thick and calloused, Fiddleford’s spindly and bitten at the nail. “Let’s try to be something good.”
Stan and Fiddleford try to be something good. It takes them thirty years. Companion piece to meltwater pulse, but can be read as a standalone.

MELTWATER PULSE 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO!! (Unironically one of, if not THE BEST, fiddlestan fics out there, both this one as a companion piece, and the original Meltwater Pulse.)
Extremely in character, flows perfectly with the show, contains hilarious moments that actually made me do a double take, and heart crushing angst. The author really put every little bit of their soul into this and you can absolutely feel it.
Incredible work from starlitsequins, I seriously cannot praise them enough.

His brother remains in the same position, as if he never spoke at all, and his eyes do not give away even an ounce of his emotion.
Stan takes a deep breath and Ford begins holding his.“Or did I finally prove my worth to you?”
(or: Stan is a hero. He wonders if that's the only reason Ford suddenly wants to be his brother again.)
