Summary
After Starcourt, Hawkins is supposed to be normal again.
Unfortunately, normal now means summer jobs, awkward crushes, badly hidden secrets, and a radio tower that keeps picking up voices it definitely should not.
Mike and Max are stuck scooping ice cream at Scoops Ahoy. El and Lucas are working the counter at Family Video. Will and Dustin are spending their summer at The Squawk, Hawkins’ local radio tower, where the static is getting stranger by the day.
Will Byers is already out, already tired, and trying very hard to stop being in love with Mike Wheeler. Mike, meanwhile, is having the worst crisis of his life.
Elsewhere, El likes Dustin. Dustin likes El. Neither of them knows this, which (obviously) means Will and Lucas have decided to become matchmakers. This goes about as well as expected.
Between radio signals, VHS glitches, late-night shifts, and feelings nobody knows how to say out loud, the Party has one summer to figure out what is haunting Hawkins, and what has been sitting between them all along.
