Summary
Lena sat on her porch, thinking back to the summers she spent running around the yard before her, splashing in the cold waters of the lake, and sitting out to look at the stars late at night. She never thought that one day she’d own the house and the land. After nearly a decade of this lighthouse being her summer escape from the stuffiness of Metropolis, the lighthouse keeper died and left it to her. With him having no heir, he left it to the one person he knew would show it the love and care it needed. She has kept it up and running for the past five years, keeping up with the maintenance of the building, logging ships that call in over the radio, occasionally fishing some sailors out of the water. Lena would take them in, letting them stay until Dr. Jones could take a proper look at them before sending them on their way down the coast to get picked up and returned to their crew. The sailors never stuck around for long, but Lena was comfortable in her solitude.

“Ahh... Hi.” Lena looks up at the blonde woman, expecting a fan that recognized her, she raises an eyebrow. “Umm... all the tables are taken up and the inside is full too. So do you mind if I sit with you? I mean I guess I could just go home but I was kind of looking forward to reading at my favorite Cafe on a beautiful day like today. But I can just go. I should go. Never mind.” Lena laughs. “You can sit, as long as you stop talking.” That doesn't happen though. They end up deep in conversation for the better part of an hour when Lena's phone rings, its Jess telling her she is late for sound check. “You have to go?” The woman looks disappointed. “Yeah, I do.”
“Wait!” Lena turns back to the woman suddenly standing and raises an eyebrow.
“Can I see you again?”
“I won’t be here long. I travel a lot.”
“Well can I have your name at least?” Lena pauses to think then stretches out her hand.
“Elena Colby.” the woman takes it.
