Summary
"Jisung?" Minho's voice, raspy from sleep, spurs Jisung to busy himself with his drawers, pulling himself in and away from Minho's gaze. It would be cute if he didn't look like he very recently lost a fight.
"Is that blood?"
"I'm okay Minho-ssi, don't worry, it's not mine,” Jisung mumbles.
_____
Or:
In which Minho and Jisung are roommates, and Minho cannot force himself to hate Jisung as much as he'd like.
Also, Jisung is a vampire.

Summary
In walks two guys that look his age, and his eyes snap to the one that looks about his height, blond hair just hanging over his brow, sharp features and dark eyes. He’s beautiful, ethereal even, and Jisung feels that feeling again. That longing.
However, the boy immediately scowls at him, and Jisung’s instincts curl in on themselves. His nerves spike, and his heart pounds. He couldn’t have possibly already messed this one up? He didn’t even get the chance to smile at him…
He keeps working and ignores the guilt brewing in his chest, fixating on if he should’ve said something instead.
He picks up a small stack of books, and he sets off to start shelving them. He goes by genre, getting about halfway through. He turns into the fiction section, and promptly freezes when his brain catches up to his eyes.
The two customers are on the floor.
________
Or:
Jisung starts to help in his family’s bookstore, and Minho, a regular, doesn’t like the change in his routine.
And Minho happens to have a seizure disorder.

Summary
The rain was a comfort. You know it used to not be, somehow getting stuck in the attic and listening to the storm around you while you screamed and cried for someone, someone to save you. Not to leave you, because for some reason all you remember is being left. Over and over again, you were left alone. It always ended the same.
And then the same person came to your rescue.
Because of course it was Caleb. It was always Caleb.
Of course, your mind was never a very safe place to sit for long. That’s why you enjoyed work keeping you busy, your research taking up your time and spinning your head in twenty directions at once. At least it meant you wouldn’t end up here.
The rain soaking your tank top to your skin as you held yourself as tight as you could, eyes squeezed shut and pretending like your hands were the only ones you could feel. Of course, you were on your own terrace, you were safe. You knew that. Of course you knew that.
*****
All you’ve ever known is being held like an object rather than a person, except for when it came to Caleb. You always had Caleb. So when you breakdown because of flashbacks and he comes to your rescue, relief comes before surprise.

Summary
This dance he had with Lucifer was a hinderance at the least, a game at most.
He never expected to be cornered by the fallen angel, especially not in such a vulnerable state. He wanted absolutely nothing to do with Lucifer’s presence while he could feel his life-force draining from him.
Or:
Lucifer helps Alastor heal from his battle injuries, and Alastor learns something new about himself.

Summary
Despite the growing nausea his anxiety provided, the violin and organ drew him in, the music calling to something just deep enough within his quivering heart to make him cave. He steps onto the carpeted stairs through the portal and allows it to close behind him with a few flying sparks. The red plush beneath his heels guide him around the corner to an empty railed balcony, center of the grand room. His eyes scan over the crowd, the amount of people there only making his palms sweat, but he somehow keeps a straight face, hands resting on the railing in an attempt to look… regal?
That’s what he was, he supposed.
Royalty, one of the most powerful beings in their dual realms and this plane of existence, simply reduced to a spool of anxiety from a social gathering. A fake smile and an unnecessary amount of concern over the way he walks. Oh, the mighty King of Hell, who is he really?
Perhaps he should settle with looking composed.
Or:
Lucifer’s unsuccessful attempt at socializing at a ball thrown to support the hotel, unable get Alastor out of his head.

Summary
“I’m just curious,” Jisung insists. He fidgets on the bed, pressing harder against the cool wall at his back. The words feel wrong in his mouth, like chewing on grains of sand. Like a lie. “Can't a guy be curious about his friends' sex lives?”
Changbin flicks his forehead with aggression that Jisung thinks is wholly unwarranted. “You deserved that,” Changbin informs him and smiles, an awful, knowing smile that makes Jisung instantly uneasy. “Is that what's eating at you, that you’ve never had Minho-hyung like that? Being his self-proclaimed soulmate and favourite person in the world isn’t enough, is it? You want all of him to yourself.” Changbin tsks, wagging a finger at him. “Greedy, greedy Hannie.”

Summary
It’s been years now, Minho’s learned to live with it. Having Jisung in his life, just being by his side is enough. He’s the only one in love but that’s okay, because love is never wasted on Jisung.
Honestly, Minho was doing just fine.
Then Lee Felix had to go and ruin everything with his stupid game.

Summary
“What’s… happening,” mumbles Hyunjin. “Why’s there food for, like. Ten?”
“It’s for them.” Felix nods at Jisung and Minho, seated at the little table beside their stash of takeout.
Hyunjin is silent. Then, “Oh Christ, another one of their stupid contests.”
—
Best friends Jisung and Minho have always had a knack for turning everything into a competition—who can shower faster, who can eat more, who can sooner find a meaningless hookup at a party. It’s when they overstep (or, in Jisung’s case, trip over) the boundary between being friends and more that Jisung finds he cares far less about losing their little games than he does about losing Minho.

Summary
“We’ve gotta stop meeting like this,” mutters Jisung.
“Like what,” says Minho dryly. He huffs a chuckle, suddenly out of breath. “Whatever could you mean, Hannie. Everything’s fine, everything is just dandy and completely and utterly normal. I don’t feel even remotely close to—”
“Dying?”
—
There’s no playbook on how to navigate waking up soul-bound to someone, cursed to both suffer through worlds of pain if physically apart for too long. What Minho really needs, though, is a chapter on what the fuck to do when that someone is his best friend and fellow group member whom he happens to have feelings for.

Bookmarker's Notes
I put off reading this for a little bit because I was afraid it would hurt. And then I read it, and it did, it did hurt, but only because of how beautiful it is. It hurt in that common pain that you’ll find in tragedy, where it kills them and it doesn’t have to. And you know, as an audience, the irony of it not having to hurt like this, but they do not. And they dance, this beautiful thing that you must witness, intimate and almost sadomasochistic, but in the end, they were always meant to end the same—together.
Anyways I really liked this, 10/10
