"I heard," Jax replied without emotion, as if this event were happening daily, repeatedly throughout the day. Pomni doesn't blame him; she hates it too.
"And why did you ignore me all day?"
"Pomni, what do you want?"
"Maybe I want a friend's opinion."
"About what, exactly, Pomni?" She pulled back when Jax moved, standing in front of her. "For me to say it's a great idea? Or that it's a terrible idea? It's your life, after all."

She jumped and hugged him tightly.
“So?”
He looked straight into her eyes. His skin looked almost red, maybe just because of the parking lot lights. She smiled and accepted.
