Summary
You are a fan of the game Pathologic but never wanted to be INSIDE the game. Unfortunately, that's what happens when you wake up on an unfamiliar train with a familiar face, The Bachelor: Daniil Dankovsky. And you're heading to a familiar destination: the Town-On-Gorkhon and that can only mean one thing....you're f**ked.
You are now "The Nurse", a close associate of Daniil that has come with him since "you're more familiar with the place".
Now, stuck in the plague, you're left to survive using the scattered knowledge you have of the game however, if you think it's going to be THAT easy, you haven't been paying attention because you are not a disruption and whatever the powers that be have to do to remind you of that....they will.

“It is you, then,” says Daniil Dankovsky, and the surprise in his voice is an echo of Artemy’s own. “What are you doing here, Haruspex?”
Artemy blinks rapidly, scrubbing at his eyes with sleep-limp knuckles. Everything about him feels sluggish, unable to react with the whip-crack quickness a conversation with the Bachelor demands. Still, he manages enough wit for a dry, “What does it look like?”
“Well,” Dankovsky says, “it looks like you’re fleeing town on a freight train.” He cocks one hand to a hip, and Artemy follows the motion of his silhouette in the lack of light, seeking expression in his body that the darkness conceals on his face. “But I could hardly believe that of the town’s champion.”
Artemy hisses a breath out between his teeth. The words hit him in two places at once: deep in his gut, where guilt and resentment churn in a seething mass; back in his throat, where he is lashing out with sour bile before he can think better of it. “Well,” he’s snapping before the sense of his words has even resolved in his mind, “maybe if you’d learned to believe what you see, we’d all be better off.”

Summary
Artemy looks down at Dankovsky's outstretched hand like he’s not sure what to do with it. He hadn’t planned what he’d do or say before coming here, and experience tells him to keep calm, measured, even. Instead, he finds himself saying, “What the fuck kind of man talks to someone else’s daemon? Especially without the human present.”

If university life is difficult for Artemy, it’s doubly so for his daemon, a bull that’s rarely afforded the space even to be at his human’s side, let alone the space to be himself.
Until, that is, he makes a friend.
