His eyes trace the hairline cracks webbed on the faded ochre of the ceiling. The tiles of the bathroom, rounded at the edges and yellowing at the joining. The golden lighting bouncing off his body, his legs shimmering under the water. He feels tears brimming at the corner of his eyes, but no—he won’t cry.
He’ll treat this as any other day, just with a little more melancholy sprinkled throughout it. And then he’ll go to bed, and call him when he can’t sleep. He’ll tell him about the lady at the cafe who keeps changing orders halfway through, and he’ll revel in the sound of Seungmin’s laughter. And then he’ll fall asleep to the sound of Seungmin’s soft breaths. He’ll wake up next morning to a good morning text from him, a bed selfie and a picture of his cup of coffee attached.
He really, really misses him.

Hyunjin gives him an almost tired look that makes Seungmin quickly correct himself — for tonight, Hyunjin is his boyfriend, his “dear”, his “honey” and “love”, for tonight, Hyunjin isn’t his officer and he has to watch his words to avoid letting that slip mindlessly, purely out of habit.
“I should’ve been honest and said that a lot earlier, but I’ve actually… never kissed anyone before,” Seungmin admits with a heavy sigh.
(Alt: Usually, it doesn’t take much for people to realize that they like someone. For Seungmin, too, it only took six months of serving under Hyunjin’s command, one important mission, fake identities and several kisses before he finally realized that what he felt for Hyunjin wasn’t just admiration.)

Hyunjin can’t tell him now -- not after seeing the pleased little smile on Seungmin’s face and the slight tilt of his round little head, too reminiscent of a puppy for Hyunjin to subsequently kick with the truth: that Seungmin still hasn’t been confessed to before, because the confession was never meant for him. It was meant for his best friend, Lee Felix.
Hyunjin accidentally slips Felix’s love letter into Seungmin’s locker and is such an INFP that he doesn’t have the heart to tell Seungmin the truth.

i don't know if i'm allowed to hurt more than seungmin when he sees the drafts or than hyunjin who couldn't do anything while seeing seungmin hurt but i am.
note to self: it's not as angsty as you make it seem, it's a lot cuter and the fluff dries out the tears fast enough you wouldn't even realize you shed them. i recommend for you to reread this in a month when your goldfish memory forgets the sequence and relive it again.

Changbin has a routine.
He wakes up at 8 am, he brushes his teeth, he waters the plants, he makes breakfast, he wakes up his fiancé, they eat breakfast together, he forces Jisung to drink his vitamins, they go out for their morning walk, they head to work (at home due to a certain global health crisis), they eat lunch, Jisung would drag him to film a vlog or a video, he works out (and sometimes his fiancé joins him when he has time), they cook dinner and maybe watch a movie or facetime their friends and family, then they get ready for bed and repeat the whole thing tomorrow.
This was a routine he’d never grow tired of.
Today, however, is different. By some miracle, Jisung has persuaded him into vlogging a day in his life for the younger’s youtube channel.

Seungmin was pulled out of his work by a knock on his front door. Frowning in confusion, Seungmin waited a few more moments and sure enough, a second knock followed, confirming that there was indeed someone waiting outside his door.
And upon swinging open his front door, Seungmin came face to face with the same attractive stranger he met a week ago.
“You’re the guy from the bus stop…” Seungmin enunciated slowly as his brain went into overdrive in search of an explanation why the man- Hyunjin was in front of his apartment.
Hyunjin fidgeted in place, eyes averted to the floor before shyly presenting a small box to Seungmin.
Still utterly discombobulated, Seungmin moved on auto pilot and took the box from Hyunjin’s outstretched hand, opening it. Except that that only plummeted him into deeper confusion.
“Is this…a ring?”
“Well,” Hyunjin cleared his throat awkwardly. “I did some research and um…”
Hyunjin finally looked up to meet his eyes, cheeks still dusted pink.
“I thought we should get married in human customs too.”
One beat.
Two beats.
“...what?”
