Summary
The moment the system finally activates without errors, the entire team gathers around.
Everyone stares as even the ones who don’t fully understand the science behind it can recognize the scale of what they’re looking at.
But Senku doesn’t look at their reactions, instead, his eyes scan the crowd.
And then he notices it.
Gen looks bored. Actually bored.
That never happens, not even once.
Usually, the mentalist is right there, eyes wide with disbelief, throwing out some dramatic comment about how impossible something looks. Gen’s reactions never get old. There’s something oddly satisfying about watching someone who makes a living reading people struggle to process Senku’s inventions.
Or: Gen doesn't react to his invention anymore. Senku's goal? He wants to see the amazement and disbelief on the mentalist's face again.

“Once you're all better… will you be my boyfriend?” Luna asks.
"I'm sorry, but I can't," Senku replies without hesitation. "I'm already dating someone."
"...Really?" Luna blinks in surprise before offering a small smile. "She must be a lucky girl."
"Uh... yeah."
"Anyway," Luna continues, sounding genuinely curious, "who is she?"
Senku immediately realizes the flaw in his plan.
If he named anyone on the Perseus, Luna could easily ask them about it later. The lie would collapse almost instantly, and he'd have an entirely different problem to deal with.
"It's a guy," Senku says.
Or: To dodge her romantic advances, Senku lies to Luna about being in a relationship—accidentally turning her into an enthusiastic wingwoman for a romance that doesn't even exist.

Summary
Gen was a naturally charismatic and flirty person. He could befriend anyone, charm anyone, and if flattery got him what he wanted, he used it without hesitation. To society's standards, Gen was the epitome of the “perfect” omega. Lean, delicate, soft-featured, and just a little shorter than average? A recipe for an alpha magnet and also the perfect trigger for any desperate alpha to fall straight into rut.
For some reason, that bothered Senku.
He couldn’t quite pin down why. Maybe it was because Gen was his friend, and the thought of people seeing him as something to be used to satisfy their instinctual desires made his stomach twist. Or maybe it was something else entirely. He didn’t know. He just knew it bothered him.

Summary
A soulmate AU where you communicate with your soulmate through writing on your skin with something like a pen. Except, both Gen and Senkuu couldn't be bothered to reach out to their soulmate for a long time. So they were far older than most when they started to message, and by then Senkuu had already been obsessed with science. Thankfully there was the petrification of humanity to put a wrench in it.
(The SenGen can be read as platonic or romantic, but I wrote it to be platonic.)

A smut fic that turned into a speedrun through the Hobbit and an exploration of Consort Bilbo all inspired by this tik tok:
“Omegas making their nests in gardens. The flowers bloom when they’re in heat. (Alphas either have to endure poison or thorns to claim them)” @thecoffinarcThorin’s voice cut through the air. “And how does one manage to pass through such dangerous terrain? Obviously hobbit omegas do mate. We saw plenty of children running around in the Shire.”
Bilbo whipped his head up, caught under Thorin’s heated gaze. Was he asking out of curiosity? Or because he was interested? No, that couldn’t possibly be why. “Of course! Brute strength won’t do it, or at least it’s never worked for a hobbit. The only way to have safe passage through an omegas garden is to be their fated mate. I believe you would call it your One. They are resistant to the poisons, and unharmed by the thorns.”
Bilbo was pulled into further questioning by Balin, but he couldn’t help but allow his eyes to wander back to the King. Thorin was still looking at him, as if considering something. Bilbo’s heart raced and he desperately tried ignoring the hope growing in his chest.

The Hobbit froze and for the second time in just five minutes he was sure he’d heard incorrectly. “Thorin? He’s going to?”
“Oh, yes, laddie, as an unmated king, it’s one of his responsibilities.” Balin barely held back a laugh at Bilbo’s surprised expression. “It is in the hopes that he might meet someone, but also to prove his raw prowess and strength against other Alphas. That’s why it’s only for unmated kings unless they wish to do the Hunt together as a couple. Most don’t though, there’s always the chance that things can go wrong in such a situation.”
“I understand that, yes.” Bilbo swallowed. He hid his hands under the desk and nervously wrung them together. “So, he will for sure be a hunter, as you called it?”
“Oh yes. We use the terms hunter and hunted, because those terms are not used solely for Alphas and Omegas respectively, but yes, Thorin, as an Alpha, will be a hunter.” Balin’s eyes twinkled over his glasses as he suddenly asked, “Will you be joining the Hunt, too, Bilbo?”
“Yes.” The answer popped out before Bilbo could even think about it.

It’s certainly not Bilbo’s fault that no one realizes it sooner. Bilbo takes one look at Mirkwood and says, “This forest feels– sick,” even though he didn’t need to see the forest to know that, could feel it as far back as Beorn’s cottage. Bilbo keeps them alive, keeps the trees on their side and slays spiders and makes sure they’re always heading east.
(Or, it’s not Bilbo’s fault the Company doesn’t know what a hedge wizard is.)
