"I'm just sayin'..." She stole another fry off his takeout tray, being careful not to lean over too far back when he playfully swatted her hand. She didn't want to fall off the railing she sat on. It was a long way down. "In the Olympics, these colors mean somethin'."
"Yeah, sure, Detective." He meant to sound annoyed, but she had some ketchup on the bottom of her lip, and it matched the color of her suit. "Stop stealin' my food - you've got your own!"
"Yours tastes better," she replied, licking her lips.
Bucky nearly choked on his chicken fingers.

In which Steve Rogers meets a woman who knows what it is like to be in the margins of life, suffering and waiting for the day where someone will give them a chance.
Or, that one where the female protagonist calls Steve a nickname that makes him feel bigger, stronger and like who he dreams of becoming.
"Whoa, no need to snap your cap! I'm just lookin' to see if you're all right. Do ya need a doctor, poppa?" The voice was definitely one of a female, Steve could tell, and that was interesting enough to pry his eyes open for.
He looked up, and the sincerity of those dark brown eyes would have taken his breath away if his asthma attack wasn't doing it already.
