Summary
Most of the time, Enjin was cool-headed. Sometimes something would get under his skin and his irritation would unfurl, but generally he was able to be humorous and relaxed about most everything. To see him visibly anxious was uncommon and, without being able to exit the vehicle or light up a cigarette, his options to soothe his nerves were limited to none. He began absentmindedly bouncing his leg again and you sighed.
The air in the car felt warm and stagnant. You shrugged out of your jacket, letting the fabric slide down your shoulders to pool around your waist. You felt eyes on you and looked over at Enjin, who quickly averted his gaze. His leg began to bounce faster, more insistently.
You felt your own eyes narrow as the gears in your mind began turning. You kicked your boots and socks off and tugged your T-shirt off over your head, leaving you only in the skin-tight undershirt you wore under your uniform and your pants. You stole another glance at Enjin and again he averted his gaze, pretending to look out the window. You saw his throat bob as he swallowed, and his leg continued to bounce.
