Summary
“You two thought you knew what humans wanted. You were consumed by the idea of doing good for the world, even though you didn’t understand what your choice would really mean.” She smiled. “It was very idealistic, I’ll grant you. You remind me of Myself when I was younger. But without the chance to experience the life you were choosing for the humans, at the end of the day you’re just two more deities playing games with their existence.”
“But You–”
“That doesn’t make you worse’n Her, but it doesn’t make you better, either, does it?” said Lucifer.

Summary
Aziraphale realised, belatedly, as his fountain pen hovered above the paper stamped with Heaven’s official letterhead, that he hadn’t heard from Crowley in nearly forty years.
It was uncalled for. And awfully rude. What kind of enemy never followed up after a little spat?
Aziraphale attempts a daring rescue and absolutely everything is Crowley's fault.

Summary
“Shop’s closed,” Crowley growled once more, smoldering. He snapped his fingers, fully intending on miracling the man out of the bookshop — but he merely smiled mildly at the demon, looking nonplussed.
“Oh, those don’t work on me, sorry,” he said, rather pleasantly. “It’s quite good to see you again, Crowley.”
Crowley stared at him.
It was only then he understood that he was staring at Him.
Crowley is perfectly - well, not happy, but perfectly fine - to spend his days in the bookshop, drinking and grieving and wishing things had gone differently.
That is, until the Son of God turns up, asking to have a word with him about Aziraphale. Something's gone down in the Up - and the angel really would never cease to surprise him.
(Or: One of many the GO3 rewrites that will surely be populating this site for years to come!)

Summary
"Aziraphale," said Crowley. Dread churned in his gut, and yes, he could tell it now, there was something off here, something like -- like -- "What's happened?"
"I'm human," said Aziraphale.
-- like the absence of something so familiar it had gone unnoticed for six thousand years.

Summary
“That’s not possible. How could my eyes just change overnight?”
Crowley snapped his fingers. The mirror remained stubbornly shattered. He looked up at Aziraphale, face pale.
Aziraphale took a step forward. “Like I said, I think something’s happened.”
“What’s going on? Why isn’t it working?”
Crowley snapped his fingers again, his agitation growing. Aziraphale placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Crowley, let’s leave the mirror be for now and talk this over. I’ll make us some tea, or coffee, or whatever you’d like. I just don’t think it’s a good idea to for either of us be around broken glass at the moment.”
Crowley nodded, taking Aziraphale’s hand and stepping over the shards to safety. Aziraphale could feel his hand shaking in his.
“Crowley,” he said, “I need you to take a deep breath.”
“Why? I don’t need to breathe.”
“Yes, I rather think you do. I think we both do.”
“Angel, what is going on?”
Aziraphale reached forward and placed a hand on Crowley’s chest, feeling a strong heartbeat racing beneath it.
Crowley reached forward and did the same.
“Crowley,” Aziraphale said after a moment, afraid to speak the truth into being, “I think we may be human.”

Summary
“Who was at the very first rehearsal, hmm? Who read over Shakespeare’s shoulder as he put ink to parchment? If anything, I know Hamlet just as intimately as I know you.” Aziraphale picked up his teacup again and looked at Crowley over the rim of it. “Maybe even more.”
Crowley was tempted to ask if he’d fucked Hamlet.
****
Aziraphale is cast as the lead in a community theatre production of Hamlet, a lifelong dream of his and a lifelong night terror of Crowley's. But, as the hapless Crowley helps him run lines, it becomes a mystery why anyone would let Aziraphale on stage. Tears are shed, skulls are crushed, monologues are butchered, and through it all, Crowley remains supportive. After all, the show must go on--even if it is the fifty billionth production of stupid, overrated Hamlet.

“Oh - no, no, you can’t do that!”
Crowley grins manically at the angel, feeling drunk on the sudden onslaught of possibilities, and sure that his yellow eyes are glowing unnervingly.
“Oh, yes, we can,” he growls, before offering the book and pen to him. “Do you want to write it?”
But Aziraphale is still shaking his head.
“No, no, I - of course, we can, apparently,” he stutters. “But what I mean is - Crowley, we can’t summon Her without a plan, first!”

Michael tries to erase the Metatron from the Book of Life. It sets off an explosion of potential alternate realities and timelines, both into the past and into the future. Here is one possibility.
Or: a canon-compliant S3 fix-it where the IRL Season 3 is only ONE potential version of what might have come from messing around with the Book of Life, and therefore everything that happens from the moment the Metatron is poofed out of existence is up to you. Summary
It started, as many such cases often did, as a tickle.
Crowley woke up feeling it in the back of his throat the next morning and immediately knew he was fucked.
Not actually, yet; sure, the frog that had leapt and lodged itself between his tonsils and larynx was annoying and scratchy, but he could still ignore it.
He told himself he would find a way to burn it out before it could set up shop.
Yes, he was aware that particular statement went directly against his cold-bloodied reality, yes, that included keeping Aziraphale in the dark about the whole thing and no, Crowley wasn’t prepared to talk about it.
Aziraphale and Crowley moved to their cottage in the South Downs a little over a year ago, and think themselves out of trouble. They’re wrong. Six thousand years is a long time for everything not to happen at least once; and it’s all Crowley’s fault.

Summary
After the Second Coming fails to bring about the end of the world, Aziraphale and Crowley are abruptly dumped back on Earth with no miracles, no instructions, and far too much unresolved tension. Also, apparently, a lifespan.
What follows is twenty-four hours of disastrous flirting, horny panic, bad decision-making, and the increasingly undeniable realization that they’re finally allowed to have each other. If they could just figure out how to talk like actual adults — and perhaps come up with a plan before everything becomes catastrophically emotional — this would probably be easy.

Summary
In the bookshop at the beginning of the universe, Crowley and Aziraphale work together to author reality back into existence one handwritten page at a time. It all feels terribly cosmic and profound until the headache begins, followed shorted by the hand cramps. Unable to continue holding the pen, they may finally have to hold a few long-avoided conversations — or perhaps simply spend some time holding hands. [I was challenged to write E-rated hand holding, it predictably grew out of control.]

Crowley and the cold make for one hell of a combination, and Aziraphale could have gone another six thousand years without knowing it.
“You show up after hours, out of the blue and frozen half-solid, drip a gallon of rain water all over my kitchenette, and all I get by way of explanation is a half-hearted ngh,” Aziraphale sighed.
“‘s what I get for--” Crowley shuddered, and Aziraphale reached up and tugged the blankets back into place. “--taking public transport.”

Summary
Professor Anthony, astrophysicist and author extraordinaire, got everything he ever wanted in life.
What about the demon Crowley?
Just this once, Crowley promised himself, reaching out with one hand and pushing it through the cool, thin film of reality. Just one little teensy time, and then he would be done. He’d promised he wouldn’t, but just once. Once couldn’t hurt.
