He couldn't stomach the sight nor the pain of her answer. Without a word, he opened the door to the Crimson Palace, giving her his back and letting it slam in her face.

Summary

Summary

But a fight between Astarion and Tav and the attack on Moonrise goes wrong, Astarion realises just how much Tav means to him, especially when they are taken to his old master Cazador as a hostage.
The story shifts from the party trying to rescue Tav and their challenges to Tav's imprisonment. Will being alone with Cazador break them? Or will they hang on just long enough for a rescue... If a rescue is coming at all.

Astarion froze.
Raphael laughed. “Don’t worry, little vampire, you’ll get your beloved back, and you’ll have the opportunity to make her fall in love with you again. I will deliver everything that was promised. But my dear Astarion, you forgot one thing…you didn’t say when….”
Astarion turned with a snarl, but before he could take a single step, he had been transported out of the House of Hope in a haze of brimstone, and the last he heard of Raphael was the devil’s devious laughter.

Through the fear and panic, you try to latch on to spite and resentment. “You must be Cazador, the dick I heard about from your precious, undead children.” You mutter with as much disdain as you can muster.
“You WILL watch your tongue around me, wretch. That tongue can easily be severed if I will it so.” Cazador’s threat resonates through your bones. He looks at you thoughtfully. “I can see why the boy liked you so much... But just like him, I can break you too.” With a flick of his wrist, the chains draw tight on your limbs.
You grit your teeth as the shackles tighten around your neck. “You can’t break what’s already broken.”
