The world feels hazy and with every shuddering inhale he can feel the blood pounding through his veins. Around him is all skin and sweat and when another pair of hands grips his shoulders harshly and drags him away from the slender neck of a beautiful boy, all Jeremy can do is laugh. The room sways as he’s forced to his feet and on instinct he reaches out, fumbling around for a baggie, just a little more to rub into his gums. He wouldn’t want the withdrawals to kick in and ruin all the fun, would he?

Summary
He knows the rules of course. They aren’t supposed to have any sort of relationship beyond allies or tentative friends. Scott’s advisors look down on his smaller and ‘less developed’ empire and are incredibly strict about traditions and what-not, Jimmy’s not really sure, he zoned out while it was being explained. The Cod Council on the other hand are wary of the secretive elves and distrust the alliances Rivendell has with their enemies. This means that despite whatever the two feel for each other, feelings borne from featherlight touches, secret smiles and a cave tucked away inside a mountain nothing can be, at least not easily.
Despite all of that and more Jimmy is still on his way to Rivendell to ask the Elvenking to visit the Cod empire. Which is very much not a date if anyone asks and very much was a date when he planned it.

Gem watches as the clock ticks over to four am. It’s been three weeks since she and Scott got rescued from Xornoth’s clutches and besides the sixteen hours straight she slept after being rescued, she’s barely gotten any rest. Sometimes it’s her own fault she doesn’t sleep. Gem is no use to anyone fast asleep. A far better use of her time is figuring out how to stop Xornoth. She’s so close to finding a solution, any second wasted is selfish. The only one who can fix this is her and she refuses to stand by and let people suffer as the demon terrorizes them.

Scar is being watched. It’s been happening for a while now, at least a few weeks. He’ll be working on his plane, collecting materials, or completing any other mundane task when the hairs on the back of his neck will begin to prickle. He’ll turn around only to see nothing but trees and the occasional startled animal. Yet despite the lack of proof, he’s certain someone has been spying on him.
The real issue is that he doesn’t know what to do about it.
WhateverWhoever is watching him always manages to stay just out of sight. He’s tried setting up cameras but all they ever catch is a dark blob of movement disappearing behind a tree. Nothing has been stolen, he hasn’t been attacked only… observed.

A mosquito pricks Ryan’s neck and he smacks it away. He thinks about the weight of Naim’s head on his shoulder on the bus, the tinny melodies emitted by cheap earphones filling the space between them. Remembers how settled he’d felt, how uncertain yet still oddly calm, having only the vaguest idea where he was going but being sure about who he was going with. He looks at Naim. “Maybe, yeah.”

PJ pointed up at Hazel’s cat ear headphones. “Those are the fucking cringiest thing I have seen since the clown at the school’s anti-drug parade.”
Hazel didn’t say anything in response, just pressed the ears forward with her fingers to indicate her dissatisfaction with PJ’s comment. When she got into the car, she pulled them down and left them around her neck, no plans to take them off just because PJ thought they’re dorky. She isn’t surprised, but if you suggested she was endeared she’d have to put her fist through your solar plexus. That was just her and Hazel, she made stupid, snide comments and Hazel let them roll right off her back like a duck.
