Summary
Everyone wants to be a hero at least once in their life, even if it's a small task of saving a kitten from a tree. Yet no one talks about the real hero's, the ones who take a beating so others don't have to. The one's who kill so other don't stain their hands. Being a hero is standing tall against an adversary and pretending it doesn't hurt. It is why many a hero, the men and women of great fable often die young, die shortly after they have completed the end goal. Saved the day and have earned their time of rest, because when a hero no longer has a purpose? It becomes a race amongst the ugly pit of self-hatred, crippling guilt, and blind rage to see which one devours the hero first.
I was born a prophesized hero but now I have no purpose. The Death Eaters have been caught, the school rebuilt, the ministry restructured and I am no longer needed. A weapon honed and sharpened with no enemies to behead, so what does a discarded weapon do when there are no more wars to fight?
