    Summary

Bruce is supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, a creature of the night, and a master of keeping secrets. However, none of those titles hold up against a heavy post-surgery dose of hospital painkillers.

When Clark walks into the recovery room, he finds a brilliantly loopy, incredibly high Batman who is currently having a profound emotional affair with a navy necktie.

As Clark tries to keep Bruce from loudly shouting their secret identities to the entire hospital wing, Bruce lets him in on a few top-secret classified secrets:
    1) He slept with Superman (and highly approves of his assets),
    2) He is going to marry Superman one day, and
    3) They are buying a farm with exactly four strategically balanced ducks.

Clark is just trying to survive the sheer, blushing embarrassment of it all, while secretly melting into a puddle of pure happiness.

    Summary

The good thing about having a famous face was that Bruce didn’t actually have to go through awkward introductions with the League when he finally revealed his identity. The bad thing about having a famous face was now everyone knew maybe just a bit too much about his private life. That, unfortunately, included his children.

    Summary

The first time it happens, Bruce doesn’t do a great job at hiding his surprise. It was only a couple weeks after Tim’s adoption was officially finalized - hyphenated name and all. Bruce still smiles to himself at the memory of reading ‘Timothy Jackson Drake-Wayne’ on those papers, trying not to choke up at his third son being the first to take the Wayne name. Of course that was never an expectation, but still, it meant something that Tim chose to take it.

With that considered, perhaps Bruce shouldn’t have been quite so shocked by the teen calling him ‘Dad’, but he is. And he’s even more startled to hear it declared loudly as Tim abruptly sprints towards him down the hall at full speed.

    “Dad Test!”

    Or

Tim starts a trend in the family of jumping at Bruce at random, increasingly difficult times shouting: 'Dad Test!' to see if he'll catch them. This leads to many shenanigans & then crash lands into angst because of course it does.

    Summary

Clark heard it just as he stepped out the front entrance of The Daily Planet’s building. The sun had already set, a chilly autumn breeze dragging through his coat. It had been a late evening for him, catching up on drafts for his next few articles before some other emergency stole his attention from his work.

    “Kal-el.”

He straightened, perking towards Gotham. Something cold gripped his heart as he listened for that familiar heartbeat. The voice was unmistakable; low, rough, and steady, one that grounded Clark almost as quick as Ma’s. In battle, hearing it usually meant there was a plan, that Clark could worry a little less about details; because the man he trusted the most – with his life and the lives of his family – had it under control. It soothed Clark when he faltered, bolstered him when his strength wavered, and steadied him when he teetered on the edge of sensory madness.

    And that voice sounded afraid.

Clark was suited up and hurtling through the air towards Gotham before Bruce whispered again.

“Kal–” came his quiet gasp. “I’m sorry.”

    Summary

A mission gone wrong leaves Bruce drugged, wounded, and - much to his children’s horror and fascination - unguarded. But what slips from his lips in that haze isn’t strategy or anger, but raw confessions of fears, regrets, and unexpected declarations of love. Alfred stayed at his side, with indulgence of a father, the children listen with wide eyes, and Clark learns more than he ever expected to hear. Because sometimes, the truth only comes out when Bruce Wayne finally drops the walls when he's hammered as hell.
