Kaeya slips into his apartment on shaky legs. Once his door is closed and locked, he leans against it, taking a deep, steadying breath. He slips his boots off, leaving them just beside the door.
The anatomy book tucked under his arm that he'd snatched while Lisa wasn't looking, almost seems to burn into his side. It weighs heavy on him like the anticipation of what he's planning on doing with his evening.
(or, 4 times when Kaeya learns to appreciate and love his body, despite his original discomfort and reluctance towards it. The 1 time he hates it, but remembers how amazing it is. And finally, the 1 time he abhors and resents it so deeply, he isn't sure he'll ever recover.)

In a strange new world of Hero's and Villains, Sunny tries to figure out what exactly is going all the while trying to also finding out what it means to be a hero in this world.

Spoilers for the entirety of Omori. Characters are somewhat OOC; Basil is a lot more angry and impulsive than in canon IMO.
Basil is jealous and obsessive over Sunny but isn’t a “yandere” or whatever; he relies on him (or, the idea of him) for happiness and stability and would do almost anything for him.
Technically an AU; no personality or role swaps/major differences.
Dead dove for the stalking/self harm/suicidal ideation behavior. Basil pov=He’s going to justify himself, for the most part.

She does, then shoots him a thumbs-up.
Satisfied, Kel continues. “Vampire!” For emphasis, he growls at the camera, then bares his teeth. “That’s right! Our friend Sunny is a real life, no cap, no bullshit, no prank, no artificial intelligence vampire and we’ll be using him to test several vampire myths!"
Or: Kel is an aspiring youtuber/myth buster who wants to expose his friend Sunny's undead status to the whole world - except nobody bothered to tell him he got the wrong guy and the actual vampire, Basil, is a few feet away, tending to some flowers.

Summary
Something hot spills down his cheek. His vision ruptures into a violent bloom of red, then bleaching white, then an obliterating darkness. The air tastes like metal.
They crumple to the ground together, a tangle of limbs and blood and shadow, bodies rendered nearly indistinct from the gloom writhing hungrily around them. He can’t tell whether Basil is still struggling beside him or whether the shifting presence in the corner has begun to take on a vessel of its own.
Somewhere near his ear, Basil is breathing frantic, incoherent apologies.
Then the world pitches sideways, and Sunny feels the floor rise up to meet him. Darkness surges forward, cold and merciless, swiftly enveloping him before he can draw breath to resist.
Maybe nothing has changed after all.
He is special to you. A string of fate ties you two together.

But the more they learn, the harder it becomes to pretend Sunny has not been punished enough. His mother is moving him away. His father is gone. His home is not safe. And Mari’s little brother, silent and half-blind and drowning in guilt, may not have anyone left unless the people he hurt choose to reach for him anyway.

Summary
Sunny never really understood the true feeling of the word ‘ache’.
At first, he thought it meant a pain that follows you around, shadowing you wherever you go. Mari’s death to him was an ache, a ghost that haunted every facet of his life, lurking in every dark corner whenever he turned around. The dictionary definition certainly backed that up, “a continuous or prolonged dull pain in a part of one's body.”
But perhaps not. Whenever he read books or comics, it was never used in that way.
See, the dictionary definition of ache spoke of pain. But, in the stories he read, it was always about longing. A pang of emptiness in your heart for someone who won’t turn around and look behind them to see you, standing there, waiting for them. Of yearning, hoping for someone you’d never have.
(Or: Sunny isn't forgiven. He attempts to move on regardless.)
