Summary
Macaque and Monkey king were best friends. They stuck together through everything. Fighting demons, travelling with the great Monk and much more.
That was until, the demon bull king attacked, Monkey king’s sworn brother. The two fought the demon, trying to stop him from destroying the village, until Macaque sealed him under a mountain with his shadow staff.
Monkey king however, wasn’t happy they’d sealed his sworn brother away, especially since the bull had had a son not too long ago. So he fought his other half, blinding him in one eye and devastating Macaque.
After the fight, the two separated, Monkey king furious while Macaque was devastated at what his best friend had done.
One was left in the light of history, all his tales and adventures written down for many generations to read, while the other was left in the shadows. He was written out, not existing in any of the sun’s stories and being replaced in his own.
Until MK freed the demon bull king, wielding the shadow’s staff.

Plum lived in a frozen wasteland with his Ma in a large fortress surrounded by ice and snow. To pass the time, he’d stay in his library and read with his Dad. Stories of the dragon clan and Monkey king always fascinated him. So even after his Dad disappeared, he kept reading about them and listening to the birds that flew into his room for warmth, telling him stories.
Finally, after the Lady bone demon was defeated, he heard about Monkey king’s successor and the descendant of the dragon of the east being in the city. He’d finally built up the courage to go into the noodle shop he heard the successor worked at, and talk to others for the first time in years.
