Then his vest is off, and his dress shirt, and his skin is free of the horrible, awful scratchiness he'd endured all night. He stills feels dirty, like theres a coat of grime on his skin, but he knows in his soul that showering would make it worse. Feeling the water against his skin, his hands pruning, his feet getting wet, the thought makes him shudder.
His tears have dried, and the consistent flapping has stopped, but he can feel himself rocking back and forth, and can't find it in himself to stop.
