She feels a glow of satisfaction at this, like solving a particularly tricky riddle — the Dark Lord is territorial over Potter, and why wouldn’t he be, she muses? He literally holds Harry Potter’s life in his hands, and there isn't a thing any witch or wizard can do about it. And Daphne would go so far as to say the Dark Lord enjoys it. Which isn’t so outlandish, really. Harry has always had something magnetic to him, despite being a fairly ordinary boy, vaguely handsome, at first glance. Anyone who attended Hogwarts at the same time would say as much.

Harry blinked at him, confused by his shift in mood – although he supposed he should know better by now. Voldemort was anything but predictable, mercurial in every sense of the word.
“I thought you were just leaving,” Harry said instead of just standing there, stupidly, in silence.
Voldemort smiled back at him, mischievous and with sharp teeth. “A change of plans.”

They smoke in silence, listening to Paul circle the same song over and over, waiting for John to show and blow the whole thing up. John whose straw had been the one to break the camel’s back and send George flying out the door of Twickenham in a rage five days ago; John who stared down George’s willingness to make amends in abject silence at Ringo’s house on Sunday, Yoko speaking for him instead.
