Everyone knows Reki and Langa are dating. Everyone except Reki, that is.
“Is it someone from class?”
Langa pushes his board back and forth, the little rumble of the tires filling the late afternoon quiet between them as he takes a deep, audible breath, looks directly at Reki, and nods. “Yes.”
And that’s a surprise. Reki tries not to let it show. “Have you guys been on any dates?”
“Yeah. I mean, I thought they were dates.”
That’s… kind of sweet. Sweet in the way that feels like it's going to make Reki sick. “How have you even had time for that?” he mutters. “You spend all your time with me.”

“Well, I feel I’m a little too young for the bars my colleagues go to,” Xeno mused, a long nail tapping the rim of his glass. Gen had moved away, idly polishing glasses at the sink. “I have no interest in fancy dinners and expensive smoke.”
“You are more interested in cheap liquor and poisonous smoke?” Stanley grinned, blowing smoke to the side.
“You could say that,” Xeno remarked, a thick eyebrow raising in question. “I can ask you why you are here instead of in a more…faster paced establishment.”
“Just like you are a little too young for your peers’ joints, I’m a little too old for mine,” Stanley shrugged, turning to place both elbows on the bartop.
“So here we are,” Xeno finished, extending his glass to him.

Summary
He hated being embarrassed. Whether through rejection of a project, or social awkwardness, or talking to someone who clearly thought he was stupider than he was. It was humiliating, the complex only growing during his college years and festering during the early years of his professional career. He thought he had defeated it, becoming important within his chosen field, respected and listened to. He had mastered his craft.
He hadn’t mastered Stanley, however. And everything that came with that.

Summary
The shame didn’t stop him, however, fingers leaving the scar as he sat up on his elbow to glance at the man’s sleeping face. His short black lashes were kissing his pale cheeks, face content as he slept, drool staining the pillow beneath his head. The hand resting on the pillow was relaxed, trim nails slightly scraping the rough linen as Stanley’s hand dragged across, fingers pressing in against the bottom edge of his sternum. He watched Xeno’s eyebrows scrunch together as he cupped at one of the man’s pectorals, fingers pressing into the soft flesh. He dragged his finger over the peak, breathing out through his teeth as the sleeping man beneath him gave a low moan, fingers gripping the pillow.
