Images flashing through his mind one after another: The doctor’s disappointed face, his mother’s tearful ‘I’m sorry, Izuku’, the burning heat of Kacchan’s palms, and then the cold suffocating weight of the sludge.

    He took a step forward, his toes hanging over empty air.

    “Please.” He whispered softly. “Please don’t let me be nothing.”

    He didn’t jump with a flourish. He simply leaned further, further, further still.
