With their parents captured and awaiting execution, 17-year-old Xaden Riorson made the best deal he could to protect the other children of the apostasy. “Jordan,” he says, nodding a little at her. “Given it’s a mortal sin to be from Minnesota and not know about hockey I’m going to guess you’re visiting.”
“I could have just moved,” she says, and he shakes his head.
“No one is moving here in December. They do that in the summer, then complain about it when the snow starts and doesn’t stop.”

Warning: this is a really solid fic so finding something else to read while waiting for updates will be a challenge 😂
SPOILERS for current main plot points to keep my memory fresh when it’s updated lol: Augustine has info on Jane and Jenna for YEARS, and most likely Grayson knew considering he bought into the organization’s views • Jane was definitely NOT okay thinking all of them were dead and even though she has them back I think it’ll take a couple chapter: for her to not be worried whenever one of them is out of sight • the Mikaelsons are dating Jane and they’re going to look for a house together, all five of them
Alright, more SPOILERS BELOW:
- can’t wait to see what up with her powers and while I would’ve been happy for Damon to stay dead, I am interested to see what this means for whatever the swirl mark thing means
- I love this fic for having Jenna and Jane being like “yo, Jeremy, Elena, Bonnie, Caroline, y’all are CHILDREN so please come to us with big things—like, idk, the fact that someone may have wanted to sacrifice Elena—rather than trying to handle them yourself
- Andie being saved from Damon is everything and I love her—and if he even thinks about touching her now that he’s back, I hope Klaus rips his heart out again
- I adore Greta—and Maddox tbh—and cannot wait to see her and Jane continue making progress to find another way to undo Klaus’ curse
- lowkey one of my fav parts of this fic is that the Mikaelsons are all a decade older and act more mature, even tho their personalities stay consistent with canon
- her and Finn I feel like are moving slowest but tbh I think they’ll be so soft and special and strong because of it and I love their dynamic—and just her dynamic with each and every one of them
- Klaus and Elijah already thinking of Elena as their niece? Precious & I love them
- okay so the Mikaelson boys were already 110% going to make everyone involved and Augustine wish they were dead, but once they found the file on Jane and Jenna? Oh man I cannot wait to see the Augustine Society realize exactly how badly they have screwed up
