Summary
His mom’s mouth opened, then closed, as if she was grasping for something to say. Finally, she shook her head, her expression desperate. “God, what have you done?” she whispered, her voice breaking.
Eddie knew, deep down, that his mother’s reaction wasn’t entirely unexpected. He knew she wouldn’t be proud, that this moment would cause a scene. But despite the weight of her words, despite the pain they caused, he couldn’t bring himself to regret his choices.
Because Buck had helped him in ways no one else ever had. He had been there through every struggle, every moment of doubt, helping Eddie put his life back together piece by piece. How could he not love him? How could he not fight for this?

Summary
The alarm goes off and it only worsens Eddie’s already awful circumstance. He hears the team rushing out and eventually the firehouse is still again, and Eddie just lets himself open the floodgates.
Sobs rack through his body, tears pouring out of his eyes and Eddie can barely breathe, his body overwhelmed by the ringing and the pain that comes with it. The migraine blooming deeper. His stomach does flips and he quickly grabs a nearby trashcan and starts dry heaving. They haven’t had a whole lot of chances to eat today so very little comes up, but his body keeps trying to expel his insides and it makes his head pound. Eddie keeps weeping, letting it out hoping that after his body will be exhausted enough to sleep, hoping the tension in his body is shed along with the tears.
The he hears a soft knocking on the bunk room door with the handle turning, “Hey Eds-“
