Summary
The road to recovery is kind of like loops. You lose progress, you have to double back. You have to retrace and try again, try again, try again.
The similarity is not lost on you.
Just once, you'd like to be free of the repetition.
Unfortunately, that's not the way the world works. At least this time, your allies are here and they understand you.
That's worth the frustration, isn't it?
Next Update: Either July 20th or July 27th.

Summary
...Siffrin knew that just because they couldn't see the stars didn't mean they weren't there. Whether hidden by the sun or man-made light, or on full display in the blackened sky, the stars were always with him, always watching from above.
The thought used to comfort Siffrin. Now it only strengthened the ache in their gut that flared every time they thought of what they'd lost.
Siffrin eyes burned with tears. He bit his lip, hard, hoping to distract from the pressure building in his head.
Isabeau, of course, noticed first. "Hey, Sif, you alright?"
"Oh, yeah," Siffrin said, hastily wiping his face. "Doing great!"
Isabeau raised an eyebrow. "Okay. You sure?"
Siffrin shook his head. "It's nothing. Just…" He smiled, sadly. "Just… stars."
Siffrin is fine. He has a family that loves him and plenty of adventures ahead. He's fine.
But he still wants to remember.
And he can read his language now. And he has an ache in his soul that won't go away.
So what if every memory leaves him choking on his own blood? So what if the Universe doesn't want him to remember?
He has to at least try.

Summary
Billions of stars dotted the cosmic ocean. In the midst of it all was an inhuman species, floating in the vast void.
The creature had departed for their eternal lasting voyage, carrying nothing but a name: Siffrin. Parents in the colony named their young only to bid farewell for the lonely life ahead, but what purpose did a name serve if no one was there to use it except themselves?
********
Or: What if Siffrin was an alien species in outer space?
